P2562 & P0299
Hi
My Vts 2.0hdi is lacking power plugged diagbox in get codes p2562 - turbo valve position copy signal & p0299 -turbo pressure signal searched through forum for further guidance when I measure using diagbox I have the following results hope someone can shed some light
IDLE
TURBO PRESSURE 1002 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE REFERENCE VALUE. 1001 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE ELECTROVALVE CYCLE RATIO 88%
TURBO POSITION REFERENCE VALUE 88%
TURBO POSITION REPEAT 11%
2000 RPM
TURBO PRESSURE 959 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE REFERENCE VALUE 1022 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE ELECTROVALVE CYCLE RATIO 66%
TURBO POSITION REFERENCE VALUE 66%
TURBO POSITION REPEAT 11%
3000 RPM
TURBO PRESSURE 895 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE REFERENCE VALUE 1108 Mbar
TURBO PRESSURE ELECTROVALVE CYCLE RATIO 71%
TURBO POSITION REFERENCE VALUE 71%
TURBO POSITION REPEAT 11%
Any advice greatly appreciated

Re: P2562 & P0299
Hi and welcome. First off, I've amended the post title as there's no code for P2099 on this engine, it's P0299
Here are your fault descriptors as they relate to this engine based on your VIN:
Fault code P2562: Turbocharger solenoid valve repeat signal.
Fault Description: Value is below the reference value (repeat sensor local loop difference).
Conditions for Fault: Engine running: The position repeat must be 30 % higher than the reference value for 5 seconds.
Down-grade modes when fault present: Stopping of the regulation of the variable geometry turbocharger.
Warning lamp and/or warning message:
Symptoms:
Suspect Areas: Any other fault codes must be rectified first:
1) Check of the creation of a vacuum and of the sealing of the vacuum circuit
- vacuum pump
- Pipes
2) Check of the control of the turbocharger regulation solenoid valve
- Breather pipe (Solenoid valve )
- Electrical harness between the ECU and the solenoid valve
- Solenoid valve 12V supply
3) Check ( turbocharger)
- Turbocharger variable geometry points of resistance
- Sealing of the vacuum capsule
- Vacuum capsule rod
Appropriate tools: Vacuum pump, Ruler, "T" union, Adaptor harnesses (4229-T / 4340-T), Controlled terminal box (in manual mode) or manual terminal box
Fault code P0299: Turbocharger pressure signal : Pressure too low in relation to the reference value.
Fault Description: Difference negative for 10 seconds, between the turbo pressure reference and the measured turbo pressure: In standard conditions (outside temperature 20°C at 0 m altitude) the pressure measured is lower than the reference by around 800 mbars at full load and by around 1350 mbars at low load.
Conditions of disappearance of the fault: Consult the associated contexts for the Pcode forwarding conditions
Down-grade modes when fault present: Driving for 5 minutes with several full load accelerations for 10 seconds
Warning lamp and/or warning message: Deactivates the traction control (Traction control), Exhaust gas recycling valve regulation cut, Limits the flow of fuel, Deactivates the cruise control, Limits the speed until the next switching on of the ignition, Prohibits the regeneration of the particle filter, Stopping of the regulation of the variable geometry turbocharger: Change to piloted mode.
Symptoms: Lack of power, Noise, Smoke from the exhaust.
Suspect Areas: Air meter restricted, Clogged air filter, Obstacle obstructing the air passage, Air lock between compressor and engine, Turbocharging pressure sensor, Turbocharger position copy sensor, Vacuum problem, Variable geometry of the turbocharger jammed in the "minimum turbo" position, Faulty turbocharger

Re: P2562 & P0299
Ok, so there isn't much detail on this non FAP version of the engine as fitted to the C4, but assuming it is identical to the one fitted on the C5 X7, then
Here is the turbo solenoid Valve - at the rear right of the engine as you stand in front of, and facing the engine: and here is the location of the turbo position copy sensor (16)

Re: P2562 & P0299
Hi thanks for that as my turbo position sensor stays at 11% regardless of load would I be right in assuming that is the likely culprit as would assume that position should change whilst accelerating
Thanks
Mark
Thanks

Re: P2562 & P0299
Have a look at checking / cleaning the solenoid first - these have filters inside that can become blocked up and is a quick check. You can also user a pressure test to see if it is working properly before looking at the turbo position sensor@

Re: P2562 & P0299
Hi Marc managed to get the windscreen scuttle off to get a better look unfortunately I cannot locate the turbo solenoid it doesn't seem to be in the area of the diagram or near that area any other ideas
Turbo solenoid valve
Hi
Have a citroen C4 VTR 2.0 hdi without particulate filter having issues with turbo loss of power looking to locate the Turbo Solenoid Vavle to check but can't locate where it is on the engine was hoping someone has checked / changed there's before so may be able to assist
Many Thsnks

Re: P2562 & P0299
I've merged this topic with your existing one to keep things together.
I don't have a diagram for this engine on the C4 without DPF system, but this diagram if for the same engine with FAP on the X7:
It should be located at the back of the engine - there should be are 2 solenoid valves - one for the EGR and one for the Turbo. Number 4 is the Turbo one - so if you can locate the vacuum pump (2) on the Cylinder head and follow this back - it should lead to the Turbo solenoid valve.

Re: P2562 & P0299
Just a little update forgot i had posted this but problem was solved by repairing vacuum pipe to reserve tank had a tiny split in the y piece so replaced that and hey presto turbo back to working order special thanks to Marc ( Give Me A Break ) for his assistance and knowledge
