I don't I'm afraid. I fitted it without taking any pictures of it. Strange that the e-tuners link is broken though.

Hello again ppl Dhallworth or other users can tell me how many hoses connects to the right side of the intake manifold~? ive the pcv connected and the hose from the purge valve but theres a third opening in the with nothing connected on it? my thermostat was changed and after it when my car does cold start it does a intermitent whinning noise wich disappears when the rpm lowers in cold start, and it appears when iam gradually getting boost,(probably i think something is not connected like it was, wich for me appears to be a boost leak, anyway the car does not look slower, but at high speeds i get the check engine light. can someone help me on this one?

thank you all in advance for this great forum.

As noted in my blog, a Peugeot dealer (in New Zealand) told me today that Peugeot have now given the THP engine an extended warranty of 5 years for carbon in the ports, and their procedure for cleaning is to soak in acetone, followed by walnut blasting. Apparently described in service bulletin TSB#B1AW0117QA.

Hello everyone! I am experiencing the loss of power / turbo not engaging issue and I was wondering if you know any garages that do the timing kit replacemwnr and timing checks, as I can't find a garage that has the Peugeot tools to do it. I have a 2009 207 1.6 THP 150 and I want to avoid the dealership rip off. I live in Bracknell, Berkshire so Glasgow is a bit far for me.. I think I saw a garage that is located there in previous pages.. Thanks!!

The engine was also used in the Mini Cooper, so there are more BMS/Mini specialists who can do mechanical work on the engine, but not all will have the Lexia/Diagbox diagnostics system that is needed to diagnose faults

If you're having problems finding someone to do your timing chain, I travelled from Glasgow to BL Auto's in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire to have mine done.

Hi All!

So I know this thread is very old and it's been a very long time since anyone has posted on it but I'd like to start by saying how helpful i'ts been to me! All the work outlined in this thread to the mentioned Peugeot 207 GTi has given me endless direction on restoring and maintaining the one I just purchased (2007/8 pug 207 gti with 98,000 miles).

I went for it on autotrader because I've always wanted a hot hatch Peugeot and after researching and finding the info on this thread I bought mine and felt confident I'd be able to sort anything that was wrong with it, out. Especially after @dhallworth mentioned that after he replaced the fuel pump, timing chain and tensioner, and then went for the walnut shell blasting, the car came out on the dyno @ almost 175bhp! :-D

So, I found a lovely grey one for only £2000 near me... what could go wrong? Looked cracking inside and out, the seller took me for a test drive and I've never been in one before so I had no idea how it would feel and assumed this particular example was as it should be. I negotiated him down to £1600 which he agreed to all too easy, but anyway I fell in love with it so I went for it.

Since I've had it, I've replaced all the ball joints, brakes, tyres, serviced it (new NGK plugs, filters and oil change) just for general maintenance... and then... my mate with a VW Passat CC diesel (140 hp) said it wasn't fast and would give me a race. He easily won. Surely a Pug 207 GTi should of left him behind?

Tail between my legs I set about my journey to find out why it was slow. Right... first went for the walnut shell blasting, then timing chain and tensioner all done at PMP Cars in Nuneaton (which is nowhere near me but they're BMW specialists and really know their stuff... and they're half the price of anyone else I could find - £200 for blasting and £450 for timing chain, tensioner and rocker cover seals - all in!).

I have no fault codes at all, engine runs fine but still feels slow! There's a high pitched screaming noise when the revs go past about 4.5 RPM but I don't know if this is relevant. Martin at PMP cars said this sounded mechanical and nothing to do with the turbo... and possibly nothing to worry about.

Pleeease please someone help. I'm willing to pay to get her back to full health! I just don't know what to do next. She's been diagnosed at Peugeot too who were absolutely useless and didn't help at all.

What else could it be? Any ideas/ suggestions would be gratefully received!

Thanks in advance!

Exactly which version of the THP engine does your car have? If you are not sure, post your VIN and someone here will look it up.

These engines are usually fairly good at throwing fault codes when something is wrong, so diagnosis may be tricky.

Hi, First post.

I can see this is an old thread but its relevant to my problem so here goes!

I have a 57 plate 207GTI 175THP.

It has recently started consuming oil. Mileage wise its about 87K.

There is no oil smoke screen when its running but the exhaust is sooted and has oil collecting, there are no engine leaks.

I'm thinking it will need a rebuild but I don't have masses of engine experience with the 207.

I have rebuilt a 205 GTi engine completely but never touched the 207.

I am thinking it probably needs rings and a rebore as I believe these engines don't have removable liners?

Any thoughts appreciated
