Vacuum parts

Post by rrijken »

Citroen C5 X7 RFJ engine, VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Looking for the vacuum parts diagram. Have begun to suspect the vacuum being the cause of the engine hesitation now and then and would like to replace the parts and sensor.

You'll need to be a bit more specific as this is a Petrol without a turbo or EGR - so vacuum circuit for what and which sensor?

Looking for the pipe that comes off the brake servo with the 1 way valve in it that goes to the inlet manifold. There is a second one though that goes to a brown sensor next to the big box with the ECUs in it then goes somewhere to the chassis and can't see this one without taking it apart (will do this when changing the passenger side engine mount), would like to know what this one is and what the brown sensor is.

Would also like to see the parts diagram for all vacuum parts if possible with all part numbers so I can order them here from my dealer.

Planning to take them apart 1 by 1 to check for leaks and if there is a leak, use electrical tape till the replacement part has arrived. If no leak is found then I will look elsewhere again to fix the engine hesitation and stalling now and then on start up (have change all electrical parts already, maf sensor, throttle body, accelerator pedal without change). There are still no suspect error messages in the journal that point to any problem.

Thanks!

Would the extra vacuum connection be part of the fuel vapour recovery system?

That's what I was thinking too Mike:

@ rrijken: Can you identify the pipe from this. This is the canister depollution absorber. The electrovalve is shown at (2).

Note: You don't have the fuel feed pipe (5) shown, as this is only for the ES9A Injection Engine.

I can't see any connection from the Brake servo outside of the braking circuit.

Thanks all. guess the above diagram is for the second tube. Where is the canister located? What is the part number for number 6? What does electro valve do? Do these break down? Part number for this? Hose going to this also coming from inlet manifold, no part number for this then?

Have added pictures:

tube from brake servo (part number here as well if available):
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 578662.jpg

Bottom tube in this picture, goes to inlet manifold under the throttle body:
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 600319.jpg

Difficult to see, but above the throttle body you can see the 2 vacuum tubes (green paint marking on 1 of them):
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 618135.jpg

Top tube in this picture goes to the mentioned brown sensor (the white braided tube):
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 600319.jpg

This is the sensor:
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 631501.jpg

And the tube from the sensor then disappears, can probably see from below if I lift the car and remove the under engine cover (rainy season here, no roof, so difficult), tube closest to the black box:
https://www.famrijken.net/wp-content/up ... 645804.jpg

Also will need the part number for the breather hose that goes into the rocker cover as I can see some damage here. Visual inspection of the vacuum tubes, they all look in good shape. On start up of car and idling in P and it runs like a dream. Putting it in D and it will idle no problem, driving off the first few metres in a straight line, no problem again. Turning the wheel to make the turn and pressing the brake a little and the car will start to drop revs, ECU trying to recover and this continues for like 5 seconds, I can then drive off as ECU recovers the rpm and then no problem anymore (but for the hesitation at lights at times). Sometimes the ECU is unable to recover though and it stalls. No logged errors, no engine light.

Help appreciated!

Just checked from my phone using cellular data and not being logged in, but they do load here. Can somebody else confirm that they do not show up? (they are a bit big...)

Do you just get the broken image mark? Or do you get an error (like a timeout)?

Just the word Image - for all of them. If I right-click on the word Image I get the option 'Reload Image', but it does nothing. Not sure what the size limit is, but I would assume less than 1 Mb would be safe.

Not showing for me either.

Instead of linking to an image site it is far, far better if you upload the images directly here.

Unfortunately we don't appear to have permission to view photos on that site.

Further from what Paul just posted, in a new post (as distinct from editing a previous one) select "Full Editor & Preview", then as Paul says, look for the Attachments tab below the buttons.
