DS5 Gear Knob replacement

Post by jaspabt2 »

Hi, put deposit down on a 16 plate DS5 Prestige 150, hopefully one I don't regret.
One thing I would like to do, is replace the top of the gear lever. The numbers have faded. Unfortunately finding DS 5 parts seems incredibly tough, so wondered if anyone knew what the part number was or where could buy one from?
Many thanks [-o<

Pop your VIN up here (it will be masked automatically) or the Reg and I will be able to get a part number for you.

The one in the Citroen C5 Aircross looks very similar to the one in the DS5. Considering the relative popularity (and newness) of the C5, if it is indeed the same part, it might be easier to get.
This seems like a common issue with the lever on the DS5's (mine is also faded and shiny), maybe the newer versions will not suffer from this early wear.

I'm also interested in knowing about part availability and assembly effort/cost...

ok, so for Mitch: part number: 96703047ZD
ds5 knob.PNG
The gear knob lifts off - no twisting - but may be tight so be careful not to be looking over it when you pull, or you may need some facial reconstruction afterwards.

Thanks for that Marc. Pick car up at the weekend so haven't got the documents yet. Looks the same as what you've posted above.
Is it just a case of pulling the old one off and pushing a new one on? Isn't the reverse gear mechanism incorporated somehow?

No! Don't get it from them!  :-D Those rip off merchants want £162.07 inc. VAT - They are not official dealers either.

It's only £90.68 inc. VAT direct from Citroen. :-D
