thanks very much for that, is there anyway for me to confirm that this is the issue? like any test i can do that can even with the wheel off? i can pick one up today and sort it out have the day offStickyfinger wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 09:12 Morning and Welcome....
The "clunk"
I would bet that the lower FRIP Joint (lower suspension joint) has failed.....parts (ONLY get Citroen/Pug ones) are about £80, it takes about 2 hours on your own without a lift.

You have your answer on the tyre width front - but if you need particular help on a replacement parts operation, create a post and we'll be able to help with a an illustrated procedure.c5ted wrote: ↑03 Oct 2019, 07:26 thanks for that
yeah the rear are correct, isnt 225 the width? why would a wider tyre mess with the speed sensor? i just want to understand whats going on, i get that a bigger or smaller profile would cause this again just trying to understand
is there any resources like a haynes manual about that i can have a look at? going to get a bit of work done now today

You can only really test that joint with wheel-on/load on the suspension.....test it by levering on the side with a large lever (no fat brexiteer jokes please), there should be no sideways movement.

Re: C5 mk3 need advice on some issues
right so im back home and ive found a few things
not sure what to call this joint/ bushing but its no.13 on this image, both sides needs replacing - http://c6owners.org/plugins/forum/attac ... 0_bush.jpg
front drivers lower ball joint needs replacing
both front lower wishbone bushing need replacing
rear anti roll bar links need replacing both sides
i wouldnt dream of touching the ball joint tbh but the other 3 are easy enough? if there is any guides on how to do them that would be great

Re: C5 mk3 need advice on some issues
Right that bush in your diagram is not available from Citroen. But you can buy it cheaply on the aftermarket. I've just had mine done a few months ago - I was getting a clunking on take off and occasionally braking. It was hard to diagnose as you really needed some weight on it to make it move when on the ramp.
But it's that back and forward that causes the clanking on the wishbone.

is there anywhere i can get part numbers for all these? it would make it a bit easier to source them, ive been dealing with japanese cars for a long time some of these suspension parts have like upper lower and middle on the same thing lol i want to make sure im getting them right
the one pictured can i do that easy when i take the load off the suspension as in wheel off the ground or will i have to compress the spring to change it?
the rear arb links should be easy to do and i should be able to rig up a pullers to take out and pop in the lower wishbone bushing am i right in saying that? or am being naive about it

You'll have to click these to zoom them.
I do't do any spannering myself anymore, so had my garage do this and replaced the wishbones at the same time and the drop links.

Re: C5 mk3 need advice on some issues
hey guys just wanted to give you a update on the abs esp lights being on incase anyone else has a issue in the future
abs/esp light on, tested both front sensors with a multimeter and giving correct readings, i then went and plugged it in to a diagbox it gave code c1321 which is wheel speed coherence fault front left. i was able to clear the code and it stayed off until i started moving again in which it gave me the same c1321 fault. so it could only be the magnetic ring by process of elimination. got it fitted and the fault is gone along with the lights on the dash
i just wanted to leave that here incase anyone like myself had the same issue and was searching for answers or possible leads on how to figure it out

Re: C5 mk3 need advice on some issues
Great - thanks for the update. Diagbox can save time by pointing you to the correct area - it can tell you it is not getting a signal - which is correct - but whether it is the sensor itself or the reluctor ring is where you need to investigate - as you have done using the multimeter. So still needs the human touch and can save money in replacing sensors unnecessarily.
Nicely done.
