Post by Louisguss »

It seems when I have all the doors open for a wile
and keep it unlocked for a bit
When I get in it to drive the internal alarm keeps
going off
How do I stop the internal alarm
I’ve stopped the van got out ( unlocked it and locked
it, it sometimes works but not all the time

What do you mean exactly by "internal Alarm"? Do you mean the horn / sire under the bonnet and the direction lights start flashing? If not, what are you referring to?

That sounds like either a seat belt not fastened, or door open warning. Check all your doors are clear of obstacles and that nothing is in the way of the tailgate catch.

Are you getting a message on the display or a warning lamp?

Ok, that makes more sense now!

It's your Head Unit. This can happen when the battery has been disconnected for more that 2 minutes.

To fix it, hold all the 3 buttons in (Menu, Vol- & Vol+) above the display together for 20 seconds or so until the unit screen goes blank. Let the buttons go and when it restarts that should solve it.

For future reference, if you ever need to replace the battery or disconnect the battery for any reason, follow the correct procedure to ensure that the ECUs have time to write their data and shut down before disconnecting the power:
