hi all, good choice Peter. I kinda wish I had bought a tourer version of mine, better looking and way more useful than a saloon!
Worth trying the disconnect / reconnect of the interface during the connection to the car. I cant remember exactly where in the process but from memory if I don't do this, I (often) don't get very far.. someone will hopefully elaborate.
Also, from memory, it can take some time after vehicle selection to the next stage, worth leaving it for a few mins especially if using an old laptop.

Another question or two actually. Nobody seems to list and oil filter for the 2.0 hdi, in fact according to the fitment charts on ebay the 2.0 hdi doesn't exist! The only one I can find that seems to be for the C5 is a Mann HU711/51x which is a cartridge type, can anyone confirm this or do they vary.
Secondly Eolys fluid, do you have to fill it right up or can you partially fill it and set the ECU accordingly. Sorry for all the questions but there seems to be very little information on the C5 X7.

Always top up the additive ECU until it is full - as you have to reset the additive counter to zero - then it knows the tank is full.
Use this part number for the oild cartridge if you want a genuine Citroen one: 9818914980.

I always search on 1109CK for the filter. There are virtually identical ones available as genuine parts and they are genuine and they will fit and work, but they have less physical filter media in them as they are not designed for the 2 year service interval that you can make use of on the C5 X7 2.0Hdi. Shop around and you can get the genuine 1109CK fairly cheaply. I bought a 10 pack of genuine ones as I don't mind annual oil / filter changes

I drove the 406 yesterday after quite a while and have come to the conclusion that the C5 is the best car in the world and the 406 the second best.

The service intervals are (apart from heavy use / spirited driving) on this specific engine is 20k miles between official servicing times. The part number is the one for this engine as recommended. I only do original part numbers when asked.

Thanks Mark. The only information I could find was in the servicing book, which is stamped up until February this year. At least it gives lubricant specification. Don't like the idea of 20k though, mine looks as though it wants doing now.

Only the 1.6 HDI and petrol 2.0 (143Hp) engines need 12.5k serving on these - all the other diesels are 20k under normal driving conditions or 2 years otherwise. Of course you can service it whenever you like, but this is the official recommendations.

I also forgot to add that PSA craftily tend to default the service counters to 12.5k miles deliberately rather than to 20k miles for the relevant engines - no prizes fo guessing why. No not yet but I am bearing you in mind and will probably need your assistance.
I have another problem now, well three in fact. The most pressing one is that the n/s folding mirror seems to be out of sync, when you lock the doors it goes past its normal stopping point and hits the door, is this a fault or a reset of some sort?
The second is that the aircon didn't work, I put some gas in it this afternoon and it worked a treat for about 10 minutes then faded, a leak somewhere I would think, especially as when I connect the gauge there was no pressure showing, I pumped it up a bit and it stayed there so I put about 30 pounds worth of gas in to no avail.
The third one is a chip on the windscreen, that was there when I bought it to be fair - but its getting bigger, I have one of those resin repair kits but it was getting dark when we got in this evening so I'm hoping it won't have grown overnight like the Merc, that started as a little crack but the next morning had spread halfway across the windscreen.
I will order some Eolys , fill the tank and then contact you - if that's the right way round. Is it possible for you to check my two Lexias and see if the fault is actually on the unit?

Very common for the aircon condensor to be holed - they are made of compressed Kit-Kat wrappers and don't seem to be very strong There was also a recall / refit of one of the hoses on the compressor, they were replaced with an upgraded part.
Someone else on here reported that problem some time ago. Can't remember what the fix was though

If mechanically forced, or knocked out of normal alignment at some point, the rear view mirror folding back mechanism disengages
The electronic equivalent of the mirror position will no longer conform with the mechanical position, so the foldback function is disengaged. Normally, in order to reinitialise it, you need to put the driver's door mirror control switch in the middle position, start the engine, then move the control backward to fold, then forward to unfold, then repeat this several times to try to get it to realign.
