Some feed back from FBook.

....

Then we lifted the vehicle with the jack and went under it, and started to examine the mechanism, and we looked at the handbrake, and we looked at the handbrake, and it was stuck in our eyes, and the white

As the video appears to be missing the white piece, the shooting is taking long, and it was not standing in place, and the device that pulled the wire was sliding When we tried to put it in place, the glitch went out and there was no problem, but because there was no piece, 5 min later it

With the support of Alperen Erten we found the missing piece from the spare particle, the number 4 in the picture with the device. The one on the left was also a crack, and I ordered 2 of them, and I ordered the one from 15

The shipping has reached my hand, we have removed the car again, and after the easy way to put the pieces, the pogo is finally over and the electronic hand gravel is

If it happened to you, I would say look at this piece first because it was worn out in time and it was a simple material from the vehicle falling from the vehicle, I would have I wish you all the best of the best.

That’s not the problem, my issue is that the cable has retracted into the sheath and I can’t get it to come out

I'm not sure if the Citroen system is the same (haven't seen one yet), no help for your current problem but have you seen this:

That's a completely different system Gibbo - that VW has motors on the callipers. The X7 doesn't.

The same as Renault then Marc?

If so disconnecting the other cable and pushing it back in should poke the hidden one out.

Hmm, I wonder if I unscrew the Union on the mechanism if that will work?

I don't think so, the left and right cables are not connected - pushing one will have no effect on the other.

This is how they tighten and slacken internally:
Tightening
X7 EPB Tightening.PNG
During the application phase, the electric parking brake ECU controls the motor "b" in the application direction "A".
The force provided by the motor "b" is reduced and sent by the reduction motor "a" to the splined shaft "h".
The splined shaft "h" and the threaded pin "j" are linked by the interior thread of the splined shaft "h", the rear left secondary cable "l" is linked to the threaded pin "j", the rear right secondary cable "e" is linked to the splined shaft "h".
The rotation of the splined shaft "h" in the application direction inserts the threaded pin "j" in the splined shaft "h" which draws in the right and left secondary cables.
The drawing in of the right and left secondary cables applies the rear brake calipers.
Slackening

During the release phase, the electric parking brake ECU controls the motor "b" in the release direction.
The rotation of the splined shaft "h" in the release direction extracts the threaded pin "j" from the splined shaft "h" which distances the right and left secondary cables at "B".
The distancing of the right and left secondary cables at "B" releases the rear brake calipers.

Right then, the saga continues in a different vain.

Pulled up outside the house on Saturday night, heard a “thud” from underneath and the handbrake ‘red circle !’ Is flashing quickly, couldn’t get the handbrake to release and had to pull the emergency release.

Haven’t had chance to look today as it’s been peeing down all day. My gut feeling is either one of the cables has snapped or one of the nylon white things has broken........

More to follow.........

Just tried to reset the handbrake to no avail, Following step12 of the reset procedure, I can hear the electric motor trying to reset but nothing is happening, and I still get the same flashing light on the dashboard. I’ve checked the cables and the Drivers side cable is longer than the passenger side, and a bit slack, but it won’t move any further than it already is.

Hi Steve - did you actually manage to fix this from the last time it went :bouncy: up?

If so, is this another occurrence of the same problem? Did you take the unit off and examine it - or is this in fact the original problem still?

Marc,

It’s a separate issue, i managed to get it sorted last time by following the reset procedure.

I don’t think it the same issue, I used the emergency release to get the handbrake off, but when I got to reset it, I can hear the electric motor trying to get tension but nothing happens. I’ve only got one warning light on the dash, the red circle/! Mark. I also get a parking brake fault message.

Ok, so there will be a fault code most likely - if you have that I can have a delve.
