Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
Almost impossible without an engineering shop. A new beam is relatively cheap (£250 ish) it's not worth trying to go the hassle of repairing the old one!

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
Hi ive someone near by that has a few hydraulic presses where/which bits are awkward or all of it? lol
I can see need to open bits either end to get torson bars out.
I take there is a steel sleeve that sits over end of beam that the bearings run on which i guess is hard to remove
found my local citroen place that has axles says around 3 hours to replace

What size where they before? Did you put them onto the same wheels or onto different ones?

You can buy a recon axle complete (apart from brakes) . Easiest way look on internet there is a few suppliers.

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
The standard Xsara Picasso wheels (e.g. 5402 H0) are 6" wide with an offset of 18mm. The wheels you've fitted from a 307 (5402 N5) are also 6" wide but have an offset of 27mm, therefore the new wheels are sitting almost a cm further towards the centerline of your car, which is as you've seen likely to cause some rubbing. Citroen also fit 185 width tyres from the factory so your 195s will eat up another approx 0.5cm of clearance.
In total, you've moved the inner shoulder of your tyres inwards by about 15mm.

!95's are an option on xsaras looking at specs norm with 55 profile but yeah off set could be better!

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
Ordered some 8mm spacers was either that or 10mm got some longer bolts.
Issue will be centering wheel as not a lot of bush dooey to locate on as wheel has a chamfer near edge!
Had my head under there today with vernier gauge measuring!
Spacers should be ok but it's need to come up with something to locate on one was some big washer with a flat on one side so sit against centre part can centre on bolts holes then a dab of tiger seal to hold on back of wheel as the rim don't touch all the surface of drum anyway.
Think rear axle is ok as put edge on rim and using my old spirit level angle finder against that there is only around 5deg of camber
On a plus note found out why and got fan to work!!! small mercies!

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
5 or 6 years ago I noticed the rear wheels starting to rub the arches along the top edges of my daughter's Xsara. It was time to get new bearings in the axle. I found online engineers who would supply an exchange axle and amongst them was a company in Devon who offered to fit an exchange at the same price as a delivered one. I decided a day spent driving down to the West Country was preferable to laying under the car. I made an appointment and left early and was there by 9.30. I spent a pleasant morning drinking coffee and chatting to the elderly guy who ran the workshop. By mid-day I was on my way home. The elderly guy (standing on the left) has probably retired now but my guess is that this company - http://abaxles.co.uk/en/about/ - is his engineers who have started their own business.

thanks for that and it's in chard now which is just up the road from my friend so handy.
I think well put straight edge over wheel with angle finder and around 5 deg of camber! but once spaced right and leans more or when checked again has more lean then will have to sort something out!

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
Xsara an Xsara Picasso doesn't have the same rear axle.
I renewed two Xsaras rear axles. One of them is still in use after 4 years, everything is ok.
Spare parts were bought on ebay from seller named frauto.pl.
Also I used very helpful online guides:

Re: Rear Suspension Xsara Picasso
Well put some spacers on rears 8mm having a fish about it seems a better gap.
With a straight edge(piece of planed floorboard)against wheel rim with an angle finder wheel leans about 5deg or less does that sound ok?
