Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
Drivers side window works fine. Removed passengers switch and checked that out - all ok. So that leaves no power getting through , jammed mechanism or motor I think?

Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
On the X7 I can almost guarantee it will be the cable. mine went at the NCP car park exit barrier! Motor running nothing doing. Citroen replaced the whole thing including motor under warranty. Cables get water on and rust and then snap. I now regularly spray silicone grease spray into all the windows channels and work the windows up and down several times to reduce strain, and when the windows are lowered I also angle the spray straw tube and liberally coat inside.
Mine was the driver side that went.

On the X7 the Driver's Electric Window Control Panel is the master ECU and handles requests for the passenger side - so I would check the control unit out in case water has got into the unit - some electrical contact cleaner will help.

Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
There is an existing problem with the drivers side control panel - won't work for rear windows. However both rear windows work fine on their door switches. Perhaps I could try 12v - from a slave battery - direct to the passenger door regulator?

Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
It'll be the driver's control unit then I suspect - the child lock button on the panel usually prevents the rears from opening - assuming that is not depressed, it would again highlight that panel as suspect. You'll find that every time it rains, opening and closing the doors - the water always accumulates on that control unit - over time it seeps in and gently corrodes the contacts causing shorts. You can unclip it carefully and take it out for a clean up. Once out it can be carefully unclipped and cleaned out.
I had to do this on all my C5s at some point - but now my OCD just kicks in when i see a bit of rain on the panel - it's reach for the cloth time and into overdrive!

Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
When I got my C5 Mk1 one window would not automatically close (it would close if I held the switch). A Lexia session told me the driver control switches were at fault. When I opened it up there was crud on some of the contacts (one contact was very dirty, and corresponded with the window at fault). I gave every contact a good clean, and the windows responded as they should. When Trainman had a similar issue on his C5 he also cleaned the switches in the driver module, and it resolved his problem.

Re: c5 x7 window regulator fitting
Just to report a mystifying but very pleasing result in my case. Removed the door card on the front passenger side of the x7 to check on the regulator, wiring etc. Disconnected all plugs and sockets and had a good look round. Not the first time someone has been in there - a few card clips had been replaced . But all looked ok, no broken cable or anything else untoward. More in hope than expectation I reconnected the window plug - et voila - it now works. I have no idea why - a Lexia check this morning reported 'Permanent fault . No connection with front LH window unit' so there must have been a duff connection I suppose. Just shows you there is sometimes an easy happy ending.
Mind you the drivers door switches for the back windows still don't work.......
