Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
Brightwells have another classic auction coming up on Wednesday 16th May at Leominster
There is a Renault 19 Cabriolet up for sale. Its s bit odd-looking, but unusual and possibly even interesting.

I lusted after the 16v chamade convertible in the mid to late 90's, in either the Blue or the Burgundy oddly enough!

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
The pictures certainly tell the story of a nicely presented car.
The MOT history "milages" suggest that its previous owners just didn't drive much at all from one MOT to the next.
2005 to 2006..200 miles or so,
06/07 400 miles,
07/08 400 miles,
08/09 300 miles,
09/10 400 miles,
10/11 1,200 miles,
11/12 1,100 miles
July 12 to May 2015 50 miles ???,
May 2015 to May 2016 5,500 Miles,
May 2016-May 2017 300 miles,
May 2017 to May 2018 150 Miles.
"Although there is precious little service history with the car, we are told that it drives well and is due to have a new MOT in time for the sale."
No doubt the Car has a story to tell, but you are left to make it up yourself.
Regards Neil

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
Never come across "Scuttle Shake" before..had to look it up!
Which are the notorious "scuttle shakers" in the convertible world or do they all do it to some extent?
Just in a brief look I have seen it refered to on MX5's, Saabs and Renault Meganes as Timmo mentioned.
I take it with the good old fashioned 2-seater MG's and Triumphs it would be hard to distinguish "scuttle shaking" from the cacophony of other rattles they make!
Regards Neil

Re: Classic for under £10K-what would be nice?
Well to answer my question posed here looks like a Peugeot 504 Pininfarina Coupe can be bought for under £10K.
This needs a bit of sorting and they wanted £5,895 for it
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C931051
This V6 Version is a little pricier
Regards Neil
