Thats just lovely Steve. Plenty of room in the Pickled Egg juke box for class like that. Choral music, gregorian chants etc probably under represented in 99.9% of the World's juke boxes....

....the Pickled Egg Wurlitzer is the exception of course.....

I've spent most of the day listening to similar stuff.
Better than working :)

Started with:

And included:

A magnificent performance from schoolkids.

And:

Plus many others.

Zadok The Priest was performed by a Latvian ensemble.
I seem to find quite a number of fine Latvian artists.
While perusing Amazon for a birthday present for my granddaughter I put this on as background music -

My favourite Latvian singer.
I had to watch though, just look at her face - not hard to do, she is a beauty - her expressions are as fascinating as her voice.
But watch out, that's her husband conducting :)

Watching the Skybolt video, this popped up:

Not a Sting fan but often watch the Polar Music Prize as First Aid Kit often show up there.
Not the best rendition but nice to see José Feliciano still going strong, loved his music in the sixties.
I always hated Que Será Será untli I heard his version. The Doris Day version is cringeworthy :(

About the only thing by Sting I like is "They Dance Alone" - bought the CD for that alone.

Possibly the gentlest protest song written.

Never heard that one before Steve...for me, I like most things he turns his hand to including the much maligned "The Last Ship" musical!

I also liked his "If on a Winter's Night" Album and the documentary which went with it. Couple of tracks are on the Pickled Egg Jukebox-Chrismas Selection "The snow it endes the soonest" and "Christmas at sea". Its not time to add to that list yet, but it is in my opinion an absolutely wonderful playlist for winter/christmas season put together from the random selections collected here.

With a Space Theme going on POTD, couldn't resist slipping Shiela B Devotion into the PE Wurlitzer. Nile Rodgers and Bernie Edwards stamp well and truly on this classic!

Lob your favourite Space related tracks in :-D There should be loads....

At the risk of bunging up the works of the PE Jukebox with cheese here's "The Rah Band" on Top of The Pops...

and Dee D Jackson....yes I well remember the "tune" but were the TOTP's performances really that bad? :-D

Yes that one came to mind too!

Different take on the Star Trek theme, nice soft jazz sounding guitar work, but if I had to be critical...think he loses the tune half way through....interesting and nice guitar work though

OK, You asked for it

Just encountered this in a book I was reading:

The good bit is at 3' 23". Sounded great on an ancient Marantz amp and a pair of £4-from-the-fleamarket Dynatron speakers. Never quite the same on more expensive gear - the Dynatron's shook the floor quite realistically.

"Space Cheese" - love it :)
Dreadful isn't it though - I bet she's glad she left all that behind.

YouTube went a bit wonky when trying to find some of the above - seems Google is having problems.
