Leather is far superior, had both in mine.

Then maybe I should consider leather more strongly. I have leather in my DS, but I don't find that thoroughly comparable. But I don't feel it's too sweaty during summer, even though my DS has no air/con. It's fortunately so 'leaky', that the heat inside escapes quickly!

And as for LHD, obviously. Being Danish, the importance of which side the steering wheel is in seldom comes up. Just avoid buying from Britain or Ireland.

Having had electric leather seats in both Xantia and XM, I have to say that the Xantia seats are more comfortable because you can adjust the angle of the seat base to support your lower thigh, and you can adjust the lumbar support. The XM has neither adjustment.

Xantia seat runners will bolt to XM seat base.. I had a series 1 xantia for a short while a d I swapped the xantia seat runners onto an xm seat and fitted it... it was very comfy..

Do your cloth seats have side airbags? If they don't then the knobs on either side of the bolsters do lumbar or tighten up the bolster, if i remember right the one on the inside near the handbrake adjusts the bolster. S2 ones with side bags lost this feature i think.

Suprised you have issues with activa cloth though as I loved mine, like sitting on a mattress compared to the standards. Rear bench was practically a sofa.

Leathers are mint for adjustability but so much harder to get set up right. I keep tweaking mine and still haven't found the sweet spot, but they are just as comfy as the cloth seats. The s1 leathers have inflateable bolsters too aswell as 2 lumbars!

I may have been too harsh on the Activa seats. They are good seats, and since I am somewhat short I don't have major issues with them. But I can feel the lack of support underneath my knees. But only if I pay attention to it. I am not actually sure whether it has side airbags, so I don't think so. It's currently at the shop to have the electric wizard to see if he can fix the lack of lights in the dashboard. It's getting slightly annoying not knowing how fast you are going at night.

But I will definitely check to see if that knob is there. It's an X2 by the way.

Phase 2 cars (except very early ones) had Air-Bags in the seats.
So unless you wish to fit Phase1 seats and put resistors on the Air Bag wires to fool the system into thinking they are present, you will get a fault showing and that will cause fail at the testing station.

It is an old car and the station may not notice that the interior has been changed but naturally removing a safety feature cannot be recommended.

Might not have the bolster adjust then, shame.

I agree with the under leg support, although once i'd got the sweet spot in mine I did a jaunt to newcastle and back in a day taking my brother to uni and I didn't ache one bit. Just tired!

The other thing is unless you've got something to compare them to they just feel like seats! The wifes fiesta is like sitting on a park bench in comparison.

But regarding the original point, you could probably make XM seats fit but they might be a bit snug against the door and each other! I do prefer the look of XM seats though.

If you want to treat yourself get a set of Saab 9000 Aero seats. Best seats i've ever sat in bar none, London to Scotland without an ache or pain.
