Hi all, As an update, the local citroen dealer wants £132.88 for the positive lead loom for an HDI 110. Collecting mine tomorrow from a very helpful local Auto Sparky. If anyone is interested I can post cost and Name after I pick them up - time is subject to the bus!!

More symptoms of battery lead failure.... alarm operates spuriously.... and the clock resets to start when the deadlocks are operated!!!! Truly bizarre, these cars.
Just because you can't see it, don't mean it ain't there..... if it floats, flies or fornicates ,you are better off renting

Picked up lead. They had used the original captive nuts and starter terminal with new battery clamp and leads. Joints and clamp also soldered. Cost £46 which was more than I was expecting, but probably accounts for time removing original bits! Got it from Autolec Telford. Tel 01952 617805 http://www.autoletctelfordltd.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Busy w/e so hope to fit soon!! Looks to be a good solid job.

Price seems ok, but 6Ft long, seems a trifle excessive?

Hi , Ive been looking at this on my 1993 1.9TD and have a set of replacement terminals ready but have questions about the leads. The Battery positive is quite long - quick measure sees it around 770mm. My problem is that there's a third, quite thick cable comes from the positive terminal in addition to two that go to the fuse box. I guess it is for the pre heaters but not sure - it goes to a junction box at the inner wing. Anyway, I was going to fit ring connectors for these leads but where would you get large enough ring connectors?

Also, if I'm seeing it right the alternator feed looks like it's joined to the battery terminal about 3/4 along its length and looks like a specific OEM part. This looks like I need to find an alternator cable to fit to connect to the starter positive terminal but Halfords don't do cables of this size - largest is 34 amp that looks about half the required thickness.

Any advice? What have others done for this

Hi, had a quick google on car battery cable, see the following for starters...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/bhp/car-battery-cable" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.autosparks.co.uk/index.php?cPath=85" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product_list/33" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I may need some myself later as I am awaiting delivery of a "new" xant and it needs work! New cable too.
Btw, the chap who made mine reused all the original terminations except alt and batt ring terminals

Right! Changed positive lead, (oil, coolant and LHM change) car starts ok but the glow plug lamp no longer lights - what have I done? Think they're operating despite the light being inop

Amusing but surely no need to use those rude words as frequently as he/she/it does. It's all a bit juvenile really. Thing is that you can see equally inconsiderate parking anywhere you care to look. It would appear to be the norm sadly.
Wish I'd have thought if this for a website!

Jim's correct about this becoming the norm so let's hope the shame of being listed on this website actually makes people think twice when parking inconsiderately especially when taking disabled or parent bays!

got to get off and print some YPLAC flyers - I'm on that mission!

These are very good for battery leads but remember to buy the adapter
to go in the middle of the standard clamp (if necessary)

I just joined the forum and flicking through a few posts, some interesting stuff on here. Those pictures are scary of those leads, does anyone know exactly what caused it?

Its ok changing leads etc. but that cannot be right, what if it happens again?
