Got a mate to take off and clean the EGR valve but after refitting it and checking with my £20 scanner, I have still got the EGR code and now 2 new ones ! Relating to The eolys additive system. Is it possible he has put something back together wrongly and caused these faults ? He did have to take off a hell of a lot of stuff to get to the EGR. I don’t really want to suggest he did any wrong in case he stops doing me favours lol, but I can’t figure out how these faults have just shown up.

We'll need to know the fault codes - but I suggest you take it for a drive to allow the engine ECU to adjust first - but if you've already done that and the lights are still on then it's not happy. Re-check all the wiring connectors as it's not uncommon to leave one of or unplug something else for access. But you need to tell your mate as he needs to recheck his steps.
