Re: Diagbox - I will read this once and once only
Managed to get the software to get so far on the Lexia side as to identify the interface, without taking it to bits. If I'm reading the info right it seems to say that I have Actia 02.01.12 so maybe it is just to old to work.......?

Re: Diagbox - I will read this once and once only
Finally got to the bottom of this issue - with a big thanks to David Hallwoth for realising what was wrong and sorting it out. We discovered that his Actia box is even older than mine and worked fine with a later version of Diiagbox than I have installed . So my box was tried with his laptop and Diagbox software - and it worked. When my software was inspected David discovered that it was set by default on trying to update the firmware on start up. This probably explains why I got one 'session' using it initially and then it refusing to communicate with the car any more. Altogether this happened with three installations of Diagbox on 2 different laptops.
The cure is to enter the AWRoot file and is explained in an old post here - https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... ot#p584251
I now have a working Diagbox system..........bloody marvelous.
Note to moderator - This thread probably should now be moved to Diagnostics ??

It already has been Pete.
Diagbox automatically updates the firmware as you update the version. This can be a problem on older cars and why you can manually downgrade the firmware as per the guide and also prevent it from upgrading - but by the same action this can also prevent it working on later vehicles that needs the later firmware - so make sure you do a 'note to self' as you'll no doubt have forgotten when you come to use it on another later vehicle.

Re: Diagbox - I will read this once and once only
Solution as explained above:
Near the top of that file find:
CODE: SELECT ALL
MAJ_COM=TRUE
Change to:
CODE: SELECT ALL
MAJ_COM=FALSE
Downgrading my interface to version 4.1.6.
Works like a charm

Also that setting will prevent automatic updating in future - so remember you made this change or you won't get firmware updates with later Diagbox software updates unless you change it back.
