I did ask before if you were running it under a VM! This is being run under Virtual Box!

I really would not advise running it under a VM to be honest - as it can introduce another layer of problems. There should be some filters in VB that you meed to change to allow the USB filters.

Try in the VirtualBox manager, go down to USB, enable the USB controller and add a filter to allow each of your USB devices through. Then go onto the properties of the filter for the Evolution Driver and each of the USB devices you have added a filter for, and in properties, go down to REMOTE and select ANY for each device.

Save and relaunch Windows XP and see if this solves your problem.

Sorry Marc, thought i'd mentioned it!

The old laptop i've set up is causing me more issues than my virtual box, and is considerably heavier, slower and worse battery than my thinkpad!

I've posted a screenshot below, the tool seems to mount just fine.

Ok, but in the virtual Box Manager, under the USB filter properties for the Actia, did you go to properties and set the REMOTE property to ANY? This can affect whether communication on the port is allowed.

Just changed it- will try again when it's not raining!

No green light on the tool yet- does it only come on when two way communication has been achieved?

Just got mine working, V7.02, last week. This after MANY failed attempts!
However, my green light has worked whenever I plug in to a usb port, regardless of whether the software was running, or the plug connected to a car.
Maybe mine's an anomaly, but if not, then you need to check the integrity of the usb cable

So my other machine has decided to let me run 7.02. I put the USB in and it seemed to mount. Still no communication with the car.

Just to confirm - my RPO is 0283?

Not quite.... 8-) From your VIN, RP is 10661 - 0283 would be August '77!!

I did a post about creating the necessary filters to get the host to pass through the USB signals to a VM here: https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 6&p=476277 I got mine to work OK on Vista at 7.02, but it won't work with 7.57, which seems to be a problem with Vista rather than the interface, as my interface works on someone else's installation.

I think the light on the interface should come on as soon as it is plugged in to show it is powered, but absence of the light is not necessarily an indication it's not working, it just shows the power is on (I think!).

That's correct Richard - should be green when connected to a powered USB port.

Good afternoon all, hope you're having a great Christmas!

I've got my hands on a Windows XP netbook, and a windows 7 laptop (which has 5.02 installed- wow!) and i'm still getting errors. I'm beginning to think it might be my car?

Errors posted below if anyone has any ideas!

No, if this is the C2, your RPO (build date) is: 10661 (16th Jan 2006)

I think you have some other issues going on there - communication issues for sure. On these netbooks / laptops are the evolution USB drivers showing as installed in device manager without any yellow exclamation marks?

XP machine showing drivers exactly as I'd expect them to look- but I can't load Lexia.

I think I might reinstall Lexia and see how that goes.

So i've made an XP virtual machine on my Thinkpad, the netbook I was using was throwing up too many issues. I have installed Diagbox, activated it, the extra files were then installed, diagbox launched and then I closed it, plugged in my Actia cable, opened Diagbox let it "Update From Internet" and now these are the errors I have.

Should I update from 7.02 to a newer Diagbox and hope that cures it? I'm a bit cautious of doing this as I won't be able to roll it back if I have any issues.

Thanks again for your patience and help all, I do appreciate it!
