Lexia 3 and key programming
Hi, could I ask for some help please on how to program key fobs using Lexia 3.
If I get a key cut from Citroen, how difficult is it to do?
Are there any instructs on the forum on how to do the programming?
Thanks

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
You will need to get your confidential code for the car from Citroen if you don’t have the card with the code on it. lexia will ask for this when programming.
You must ensure you programme ALL the fobs you have in the same session and tell Lexia how many you are doing in the session. Any fobs not included will be deactivated.
The instructions are contained within Lexia when you get to the relevant menu for key programming.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
Hi Marc, thanks for the reply.
I have the trans code from Citroen, but I am a little worried that I might really screw things up and end up with a none starting car. Can that happen?
For example if Citroen have given me the wrong trans code.
Thanks

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
No the code is allocated to your specific car and verified by VIN from their confidential database. Lexia will not allow you to proceed if the code is not correct in any case as it compares the code to that encrypted and stored in the BSI.
Just make sure you allow time to do it and follow the instructions exactly.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
Don't worry about the code, if the code you have is wrong Lexia will tell you it is incorrect & wont let you go any further.
Its pretty hard to go wrong, you just follow the on screen instructions, if you do something wrong you can just go back & repeat the process again.
One thing to be aware of is some of the immobiliser systems need Lexia to be disconnected after the procedure before the car will start so don't panic if it comes up with immobiliser fault & wont immediately start.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
I've got a question about keys.
My two button key(c4 2011., B7) won't raise or lower car's windows, but 3 button key will.
Three button key allows me to raise or lower them to any position, and I suppose it's a hardware difference, but can two button key be set to at least raise them fully?

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
Answer - No, unless the function is programmed there already.
The electronics inside the fob and the BSI on the car determine the functions. The 2 button fobs generally have 3 functions:
Unlock Button: Unlock the car
Lock Button: One press: Lock the car; Second press, Deadlock the car. Pressing and holding the lock button will close any open windows / sunroof.
The only functions that are programmable are done in the BSI at factory - in the example of C5 (X7) - where the 3 button fob on the Tourer (estate) will open and raise the tailgate, but on the Saloon, will activate the Headlamps.
So in the case of the 2 button version on your Picasso, try it and see - press and hold until the windows start to close.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
It's not a Picasso, it's a hatch.
Windows don't lower or raise with two button key, but do with three button.
Weird, if two button key should raise windows.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
Ok, it's a different function then - and not something you can do with the 2 button one as the electronics are not there inside this one that are in the 3 button version.
On the C5 X7, the window opening function from the MK I C5 was removed along with the auto closing of the windows when raining! On the MK I C5 you could have 3 options, open window a little, then a little more, then the next press would close altogether.
They have obviously brought that back and enhanced the function on the later C4 model, but you still need to use the 3 button fob to do it.

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
Yeah, it's a shame when they remove an useful feature.
Since I'd like one more key which can operate the windows, would an Aliexpress key be adequate?

Re: Lexia 3 and key programming
I doubt very much that those keys will contain anything but the shell and probably not the correct electronics needed. Just order another one from Citroen if you really want another 3 fob one that will work and then just programme all the keys to your car.

Aren't dealer's keys much, much more expensive?
