Clio 197 rear discs

Post by beemaa »

Hi All,

I just got told I need new discs for my 197 on the rear.

I'm not sure what the options are as the mechanic said they come pre assembled with built in bearing kits?

I'm not sure how accurate this is as I have seen some online that come with / without the bearing as well as some others that come with abs bearing.

If anyone can point me in the right direct in terms of what I should be sourcing (I said I would buy it as he wants some mega money for the discs).

Thx

Pedro :-D

I am no expert on Clios, but PSA cars of the same era used both types of rear bearings (those with disks attached and those without), and you have to go with the sort that were originally fitted (and the disks with bearings are rather expensive). It may be feasible to have your old disks re-machined and still be within spec, as a cheaper option.

Why were told you needed new disks? Thickness, a bit of a lip on the exterior or braking?

Notice the BX is still top the list but sadly gone
