Clio 1.2 05 plate makes niose when starting up and clutch really stiff

My mum s clio rattle when starting up can it be the tappets are the tappets hydraulic plus the clutch is really stiff I think she said it's OK when it's hot the clutch but it's really stiff even I struggled with it

It's a 1.4 16 valve on a 05 plate I think the mark 2 facelift model if you know what I mean
