I have no idea what's happened in here. I visited the Renault today, we were delivering the doors that had been forgotten when the car was collected because it was cheaper than couriering them. It's in very good hands and it looks like I'm staying in touch with the new owner who even invited me to have a sit in the Rolls Royce Camargue the Renault is rooming with. He's going to be having the body media blasted, repaired and repainted, most likely in the original metallic green and looking at the quality of his other work I don't think a better owner could have stepped forward. It will probably take a very long time before we see it anywhere near finished, good work takes time.

Just thought you'd like to hear the happy news. If I get updates in the future I will be sure to share them.

That's great news, although I liked the blue better lol... Lucky little Renault though, there's even a little Frenchness in the Rollers isn't there, assuming the Cammy has green blood?

Wikipedia informs me of another French connection: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_GS_Camargue

They're essentially Spirit 2 underneath, if I remember correctly, so that probably does mean it's got some hydro-heritage in there. Smelled really rather amazing inside and was just worn in enough, a lovely place to be, really.

Mmmm Connolly Hide... haha I recall while my parents were car-hunting to replace their 309 in 1997 I spotted a B plate (I think) Silver Spirit for a shade under 6 grand and was rather enthusiastic that they should buy it... With the benefit of hindsight I rather feel they were likely better served by the brand new Skoda Felicia they eventually opted for, although the 6k Roller would probably have been comfier and more fun while it worked properly.

In a previous life I used to drive director's cars occasionally and had to take a Spirit back to Crewe for some work. It was nice to drive but I hate to say this, the Merc S500 was a much nicer place to be.
Vulgalour I'm so pleased the little Renault has gone to a good owner and in such good company as well. :-)

Ah nearly forgot. We're in Majorca right now and whilst out strolling today I saw a near pristine Renault 4 in white. It had the tiniest hint of damage to the left rear wing but may well have been some dirt. It sounded like a new car as it came past and I was trying to get my phone to take a pic but it was gone. I hope it comes back again.

Saw another one today! Custard yellow :-) It was too far away to get a good view but definitely quite nice. It would appear the R4 is alive and kicking in Majorca. :-)
