Immobiliser reset switch? (Clio)

Post by perryqhill »

A freind of a friend has just phoned me and asked if I know where the immobiliser reset switch on a Clio. No sure of the year of the car or the model - think it's a 1.2 from around 2002.

Sorry that's a bit vague, but I haven't a lot to go on.

Hi Perry -

An immobiliser is just that : an immobiliser.
It is there for immobilising the car for good.
Otherwise it would be of no use then and insurances would not grant lower rates ...
These days you may even not get an insurance ...
It can not be reset by any means ...

It is of course a completely different matter if you mean a fuel shut-off valve that has shut off because of an impact.
These devices have a simple reset button, but often they fail due to dirt and age and hence must be replaced.
I dont know where it is located on a Clio.
