Our 307SW has developed a leak that is making the carpet very damp in the front passenger footwelll. Thinking of offer a few ducks a new home.
There are no coolant leaks nor a problem with the heater matrix, (I've owned Xantias so I know all about that!).
The windscreen had been replaced prior to our ownership & a bodge had been made to plastic apron that sits over the lower screen & scuttle. I have cleaned off all the gunge that had been stuck there & resealed it with a waterproof mastic.
I've tested the water-tightness of this repair, but still not happy. Theire is a grill in the apron where water passes over from the screen, some entering the chamber below. I've had the grill off, as it clips in to place and had a 'kin good look in the chamber but I cannot find any drain hole for water entering there. Is there one?
Any 307 owners had this problem? How was it resolved?

Re: Damp 307 passenger footwell
I suspect it is the water evacuation channels from the air intake at the bottom of the windscreen. Usually the water goes through a channel each side and evacuates through a flap in the front wheel arches. This can become blocked up with leaves and other crud. I would clear these out carefully and flush some water through the grill to ensure all the muck and debris is flushed out.
Failing that, the next place is to check under the door bottoms to make sure the small holes are not blocked where again, the water evacuates where it enters via the window channels. When these start to fill up, the water can sloosh about as the door is opened and closed and leaks into the footwell.
A couple of pointers to start you off

Re: Damp 307 passenger footwell
Thanks for the pointers, Marc.
I'd already checked the door gaskets & drain holes in the doors, all clear.
Suppose I'll need to have another gander underside to find the drains. Can they be seen in this chamber in the scuttle? A good poke with a sharp welding wire might clean 'em out. Hopefully.

Re: Damp 307 passenger footwell
Best to do it from the exit holes (covered by flaps) from under the passenger side wheel arch. That’s where the crud gets compacted. Once you free it there, flushing through with water will generally clear down any rotting veg from further up. It won’t do any good too to bottom as you could make it compact more tightly.

Re: Damp 307 passenger footwell
May be the heater motor drain rubber "pipe" that pushes onto stub that exits water to the sills !?? or even air con drain exit?
It could also be thru the door speaker due to damaged door card seal sheet.
On the citroen picasso water was entering a clip hole, filling up a cabin box section and then dripping/waterfalling down into cabin and soaking the felt. See it rains a lot here and also water ingress thread.......water leak was sorted then the engine problems would not go away. Its dead at the moment until the pug is welded for MOT then the picasso is coming back, else its gunna be scrapped!
Does your sw have a glass roof?
Went to see one of these and while it was on the ramp, drips where seen coming from the f/near side jacking point and on the opposite corner at the back, the sill was "crunchy" so rotten all the way along, even with full 12 months MOT, so much for that particular "honest" garage. It also smoked quite a bit as well.

Youtube:
I'd be tempted to go in via the wheel arch as well - there may be some sort of valve in there (as on the C4 Picasso). I'd also be tempted to check there isn't a leak from the matrix as well....
