An update, Haynes and O rings

Post by doctle »

Little update guys.
The 207 is making progress.
You have to lower the engine to remove the deflection pulley. I contacted Haynes told them this wasn't in the manual. They said a few things including it wasn't on this model, Peugeot didn't update them and that they hadn't ever seen it on a 207. Finally they said just return the book for a refund. It's way too much hassle to return the manual.
I also changed the injector washers and collars as 3 were leaking, this is where I have a little problem. The O' rings seem to be too big they were in the bottom of the inlet manifold when I took off the rocker cover. Last time I did this I put the O rings on the rocker cover oiled them and they popped into the manifold but not this time. They seem swollen maybe? My question is can I use motor factor O rings instead of the £25.00 plus postage for the Peugeot ones. Does anyone know what material they are made of? Am I doing something the wrong way?
Thanks guys

Once you have identified the appropriate material and size, this company can be reommended for even small quantities (min qty's are not expensive): Polymax.co.uk. They are in Bordon, Hants, and have a good website and quick deliveries.

Viton quality O-rings are highly resistant to oils and chemicals (including LHM), but I'm unsure about your precise application. The website lists material attributes.
