Peugeot 206 electricAl issues
I have a 1.6 hdi sport with at the moment no rev counter, speedo, temp gauge, no binnacle lights fuel gauge and hazard lights on all the time. Will fitting a second hand bsi "Kit" (from the same model) sold to me working. Fix the problem.

Welcome.
It might fix it, but you'd be better getting it on Diagbox to see what is really going on. Could be a duff fuse somewhere, or failure of the COM2000 stalk unit, or an earth fault, or just the battery being duff!!

Re: Peugeot 206 electricAl issues
And you can't just fit a BSI from another vehicle, as these are matched to the engine ECU and the Transponder as a set. You can't replace one without replacing the lot, unless it has been virginised and even then it will have to be reprogrammed and configured to your vehicle with all the correct parameters and options.
As Richard says - you'll need PP2000 / Diagbox to get a proper diagnosis first.
Have you fitted any aftermarket 'kit', Head Unit / Radio or any other options to the vehicle recently?

Re: Peugeot 206 electricAl issues
This is the second time I have had this problem. First time just fixed itself. Nothing added aftermarket to the car. The second hand items I have seen on ebay are all matched from the same car. I am no techno but it includes the fuse box under the dash and the silver ecu??? From under the bonnet, key with wiring and the barrel. Door locks petrol filler etc. Il definitely try to find a garage with the Diagbox. I'm sitting here in my car key out with the hazards flashing away!!! Thanks for the replies lads. Rob

Re: Peugeot 206 electricAl issues
Ok, so the 'fuse box under the dash' is actually the BSI - the master computer that controls all the data from the other ECUs. It also incorporates some additional fuse boxes too. The 'silver' unit will be the engine ECU.
But, you need to be aware of several things. It may be nothing to do with the BSI or the engine fuse box. All those issues could be to do with the dashboard ECU. Do you have your VIN handy? It would help fill in all the missing details and confirm the year and electronic architecture?

Not at the mo Marc. As I said I'm no techno. I'm looking for a cheap solution. Il book the car in for a diagnostic. I haven't bought the ebay items yet was just hoping it would fix it? I've seen something about a bad earth on another thread, is this a posiibility? Without the electrical problems I love the car. I've got a company car coming soon it just has to last me 6 weeks. Would be criminal to scrap the car.
