Hi everyone, I'm hope somebody on this forum could help. I own a 2010 Peugeot 5008 1.6 thp. I bought the car with a misfire and this turned out to be a burnt out exhaust valve on cylinder 1 (flywheel end)
With the car running again on four cylinders. And the codes cleared. All seemed ok. Re scanning the car I got a oil pressure higher than expected fault code. Fixed this by replacing the solenoid in the oil pump.
Using the car for a few days the eml came on and idle was uneven and a slight noise from the camshaft area. Scanning the car I got p0012 camshaft "A" position timing over retarded bank 1. It will clear but returns after a drive.
Heads been off and all exhaust valves replaced.
New fai chain kit with vvt pulley
Swapped vvt solenoid with known working one
Rechecked timing
Changed cam and crank sensor with known working ones
Replaced seals under cam cap for vvt pulley
When looking at live data
Camshaft solenoid open 6%
Camshaft inlet phase open 33 crankshaft angle
Value of inlet camshaft dephaser lower limit 65280 crankshaft angle
This seems way off. I have compared it to my bosses 308 gti 200hp
Camshaft solenoid open 39%
Camshaft inlet phase open -26 crankshaft angle
Programming value of inlet camshaft dephaser lower limit 150 crankshaft angle.
Does anybody have any ideas as I'm at an end. The car has done 65k miles and has full Peugeot service history so would all the software be up to date on it?
Many thanks Ben
