207 GT 1.6 HDI

Post by yorkie45 »

Hi, I have a problem with an intermittent power loss, it is when put under load, and it seems to miss a heart beat, then back to normal, I have been told it could be Mass airflow meter which i tested and thats not it, next is the EGR, Can i just unplug it to see if that is the issue?

Do you have a warning light on?

I had a similar problem where it would feel that the engine would miss for a fraction of a second occasionally. Diagbox traced it to the Crankshaft pulse sensor, but it could also be the Camshaft position sensor. The ECU uses these to time the fuel injection therefore any problem with these sensors can cause the car to miss.

The EGR valves can stick on these, which causes hiccups, usually around 1800-2000 rpm. Doesn't give an EML till it's really bad, but check the live data - the reported position should closely track the requested position. It's not as hard to get out and clean as it first appears!
