Friend of mine has a 2018 Expert van...
He is most (understandably) frustrated that the 12V power socket will not stay live when the van goes into power-saving mode...
Is there any way to make this socket live all the time and not go dead when power saving mode is in force?
Thanks, he will be most grateful

If it's anything like our 308 - no. I ended up wiring an extra 12v socket direct to the battery. Fused of course.
I also have another 12v socket on a fused lead with crocodile clips for when we need an extra live source in a car.

That circuit is controlled directly by the BSI unfortunately.

I think it was when one of my daughters had a Xsara, her lighter socket was permanently live. She wanted it ignition controlled for a dashcam. It was simply changed by turning a fuse to a second position. Could your fuse panel be similar?

Re: 2018 Expert Van: Keeping The Fag Lighter Socket Powered Up?
I know that, in the past (when my employer used Xsara Picasso cars for the engineers) having the cigarette sockets permanently live caused us an issue, as the equipment we used to get our call details was rather power hungry. If you left it connected up overnight you would be calling the AA the following morning, so that they could come out and hook up their battery equipment!

No - that won't work - the BSI controls the power directly. The fuses are not configurable.
