Re: 206 - blinkers blink twice as fast after switched to LED
It sounds to me as though there is a faulty earth return somewhere. This could be where the earth wires are connected to the body or a broken wire. The wires in the tailgate (not just the earth) are known to break where the loom connects the tailgate to the body due to the constant movement of opening and closing the tailgate.
As I get older I think a lot about the hereafter - I go into a room and then wonder what I'm here after.

Agree; check out there is is a good earth at each light fitting. Lamps at reduced brightness, illuminating when other lights are activated, usually points to a faulty earth connection. If necessary, run an additional earth wire to the offending fitting.

Re: 206 - blinkers blink twice as fast after switched to LED
I noticed that only the left side lights are working wrong. I also remembered that the wire that's supposed to be connected to the left side blinker is lost somewhere underneath the chassis. Perhaps the loose wire is somehow earthed, hence the earthing problem? Can it be that the distribution of power on the left side is wrong, hence the misbehaving lights? Can it be that when I find the wire and connect it to the blinker, the rest will work properly?
The side blinkers are still traditional bulbs. Can it be that when I replace them with LED lights, will the blinkers work properly (I highly doubt it but I'm desperate for solutions)?

I would suggest that you change the bulbs back to original (at lest the misbehaving ones), and ensure that everything works with normal filament bulbs.
Then fit the LEDs one at a time (and test), to isolate the problems.

I already tried that. Besides, everything worked fine before I replaced the traditional bulbs with the LEDs. I'll try that again, though, just for good measure. It'll have to wait, though. I'm having her swingarms fixed tomorrow so I can't do much right now.

What I meant was: As soon as you find the first LED that causes problems, don't fit any more until those issues are resolved, so that you are only chasing one fault at a time.

Now I get it. I'll try that as well. However, I'll do a test of my own in the morning. Since the left side lights work wrong and the left side blinker lacks the wire, I'll disconnect the right side blinker and see if the problem occurs there. If so, the only thing I'll have to do is to find the missing wire and connect it to the blinker (I doubt it'll fix the hyperflash problem, though).

I give up.
An electrician told me there's nothing I can do with the LEDs. He said the only way to fix it was to go back to the incandescent lights. If an electrician says that, there's nothing I can do. I'm mad at myself for wasting so much money on that stuff.

We've all done something like that. Live and learn!
