Thanks Mike. Yeah i think I'm getting close to being pretty much out of options now. A few pages back ( viewtopic.php?f=4&t=58439&start=90 ) you posted this test you did with the cam/crank sensor & @darbuck mentioned it looked strange, I wonder if this is a clue. Although since then I can see the crank speed in diagbox so am not sure.

I've pretty much ruled out a fuel problem. I have good spark. Airways are clear. Compression sounds ok. That leaves timing or some other weird electrical fault linked to timing or perhaps the immobiliser & of course this strange 3.3v.
I wonder if you or anyone here knows how the ignition timing works for this engine & what I could possibly check for in diagbox ?

I'm more a diesel man Max and even then no expert.

You say there's a good spark when cranking yet when you added fuel there was no signs of combustion. Have you checked the plugs for flooding?

I haven't as I need that special spark plug tool, I should probably get one! If it was flooded & I left it & didn't crank it for a few days, wouldn't it have dried out by then ?

Not doing too bad thanks mate :)

My reasoning is, if it's flooding when cranking doesn't matter how long you leave it to evaporate. As the ECT appears to be our only clue so far the spark plugs may tell us more and could even do with cleaning, regapping or replacing while you're at it.

If I know what I'm looking for, I may well already have a suitable socket among my tools.

Glad your on the mend Mike. The socket is this one - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thin-Walled- ... 33806752c3. I have tried starting it in clear flood mode (throttle pedal to the floor) but no good.

I forget about that clear flood mode option.

Hmm, don't think I've got any thin-walled deep sockets like that but it's not expensive and there's cheaper ones out there if you've got to watch the pennies.

Meanwhile, if you're planning to take another look at it, I've got to go to Pokesdown sometime and could swing by yours for a cuppa :)

Pleased to report that it's started & running great now! Once i finally got the correct tool to get the plugs out i found they were not in a good condition. New plugs & some oil into the cylinders to get compression back (it must have been flooded) & she started up straight away. So all along that was the problem, the battery disconnection & 3.3V were massive red herrings! Ah well, at least now I know 100% more about engines than I did before   So looks like the mysterious 3.3V is in fact correct. I did ask the question on an electronics forum & it was confirmed there that 3.3V is indeed a standard processor supply voltage, along with 5V.

Looks like as well i have a leaky rocker cover gasket as 3 of the 4 plug threads were covered in oil, so will probably be good to get that replaced. Also need to fix the non working horn now as well, hopefully will be a breeze though compared!

Thanks everyone for all your help, this is a great forum.

That's great news, max and thanks for reporting back.
wheeler wrote: 29 Aug 2017, 10:56 Also check the engine is not now flooded, this often happens with a faulty CTS as it can massively over fuel. Get the spark plugs out & heat them up with a blow torch & se if you can get it to fire up.
That was almost 2 years ago.. I'm kicking myself I didn't have a suitable socket back then as I know the sparkies can tell you so much about an engine, even when they're running right.

I'd imagine if they were that bad to cause a non-start, the car will absolutely love the new plugs. Enjoy.

I have quite similar problem with my Citroen C4 Picasso Mk2 1.6 vti. Everything started after changing the spark plugs and switching the Camshaft positon sensors. Engine stopped, after that crank but no start. I check the wires conecting to camshaft position sensors end there is a short somewhere. Can anyone help with a wire diagram? Thank you
