chaps, I keep seeing a 607 for sale on a street.. it attracted a PCN today.. it's £600 and 2002.. a 2.2Hdi
I dont know what to make of them really.. it's a climb down from the X7, in every respect I would think.. it's not any more practical.. is there anything good or exceptional about them? or are they just a large barge with average economy and performance?
looking at sold listings, they can be had very cheap, and occasionally go for a bit more, but not much really..
just curious

Hopefully Aisin, not Asian!!!!
Always liked the look of the 607 - very understated. V6 3.0d manual would be fun; did they do one after the 2.7?

Re: 607
yes the x7 has the asian box its nice.. faultless..
are you saying Chris that the hdi 2.7 was fitted to a 607? that in manual would be nice... heavy emissions but..
the 2.7 superseded by the 3.0V6 Hdi?
re this C5, the RFL costs easily saved by the fuel tax saved?

Re: 607
Just checked Peugeot 607 Wikipedia - yes, it seems all the engines, 2.0 to 3.0, a good few in between.
And wasn't the 3.0 more economical than the 2.7 ?

Re: 607
My 2.7 auto in the 407 was lucky if it was doing 25 to 26 mpg before it got remapped. Presumably in a 607 or c6 for that matter it would not be much different. Its near 40 mpg all the time now.

Re: 607
I quite liked the unusual look of them. Big comfy barge with the diesel. Old 2.2 goes well but has a dpf. and no cheap VED.
I looked round one or two for a work horse.

Re: 607
I sort of do too, Lexi.. but pug do make some unloved barges dont they? I had a ?605 once for a year.. a really nice car but no one else has ever had one (Except Addo I think) not a car that would ever be worth much I suspect, in 20 years time.. despite the rarity..
and I remember seeing another large one as a kid, was it a 604? maybe replaced by the 605.. very recongnisable car that!

Re: 607
Pug 605 is now an incredibly rare beast on UK roads: (How Many Left? - Q1 2017)
49 on road / 105 on SORN / peak 7,500 in 1997
Cit XM:
302 / 620 / 18,500 in 1997
Pug 607:
1778 / 555 / 6,500 in 2007
Surprised to see so many 607's on SORN. Maybe a sign of the times? Or a 'spotted' future classic?

What would the ved be on that C5? Is there a concession for LPG?

Re: 607
That red X7 looks like a bargain and a half, especially with LPG... In another life I'd have ben incredibly tempted by that...

Re: 607
I too have been tempted by the 607.
Just one question, does the 607 have anything special in the suspension department? I've read a few posts about an unusually harsh ride which does surprise me.
