I need to top up the power steering fluid in the 407 and the recommendation is Total Fluide DA which seems elusive. It is an orange coloured oil and seems to be exactly the same as LDS, even sharing the same PSA specification. Are they in fact the same?
Does anyone who knows better think that it would be suitable and if not can they recommend a suitable alternative.

Re: Total Fluide DA & LDS
Ignore the label on the bottle - they might prefere Total, but they can't insist you use Total. What they can insist you use is a fluid that meets the PSA S71 2710 spec. And - oh, look - LDS meets the spec... <grin>Toby_HDi wrote:I need to top up the power steering fluid in the 407 and the recommendation is Total Fluide DA which seems elusive. Same viscosity, same spec listed on the original Total data sheets...

LDS - http://www.lubadmin.com/upload/produit/ ... 3/4003.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
More confuzzlingly, though - this meets the same spec, but is coloured green.

Re: Total Fluide DA & LDS
I purchased Total Fluide DA at my local Peugeot dealer. I looked in numerous local motor factors and Halfrauds first but no joy. Seems to be dealer only.

Re: Total Fluide DA & LDS
A fairly old thread, but seems to be a similar question to mine.
I need to replace the steering fluid on my '05 Berlingo again as the ECP Dexron III that I used seems to have lost it's strength. I replaced some of it this morning, with some more from the same bottle and the steering is noticeably better, so I'm guessing the ECP stuff is not really up to the job.
I thought about using some fully synthetic, and then came across the Fluide DA mention in the official Citroen documents.
Anyone any thoughts about the best steering fluid for a Berlingo M59?
Thanks
