Xantia 2.0 HDI 90 / 109 - same timing belt kit ??

Post by Pshemsky »

Hi Guys.
I was confident that 2.0 HDI models (90 and 109) have exactly same water pump, belt, tensioner and roller. Bought one online - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FAI-AUTO-TIM ... 2749.l2649 for my Xantia 90, but recently (to be more specific - today) I bought Xantia 109 and would like to use it for my 'new old' car. I've contacted seller and send him car reg number. In reply he stated that it will not fit into 109 model. I've looked online and seems to be exact same type of belt - 141 teeth and 25,4 mm width. Is there any difference in other timing kit parts ?

Don’t rely solely on registration numbers or third party databases they are frequently incorrect.

If you want proper confirmation of part numbers, post up the VIN of both vehicles here and I can tell you what is and is not the same.

Thanks Marc

110- VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]

Just received some more details from eBay seller and apparently 110 requires different installation bolts M8x30 (not M8x25). But I'm guessing that I can use original bolts for new parts (if they all same of course) ?

Ok, I have put the part numbers into a table for both vehicles and they are identical parts for these timing kit components based on the VIN numbers you supplied. I have used the latest replacement part numbers from Citroen Service where these have been changed from the originals and I have listed the OEM original parts first, and underneath for each model (where available) the cheaper equivalent parts listed by Citroen.

I also included the 2 types of Timing Belt Kits - as as you would expect these too are identical.

As far as the bolts go - these are the same too as per the diagram - if they are any of those shown in the diagram - as essentially, the same diagram is used by CITROEN for both these VINs.
