Never had any problem with ours... it's got to be in 4th or above and over 30 mph before it will engage though. Does it give a message on the screen? The brake light switch can be a problem on these (although that usually puts the handbrake warning light on).

As said I can be using it cruising at 70 can be 20 25 min then it will just cut out and unable to re engage it till car stoped and engine shut off
Just trying to work through my faults
Have had handbrake problem in past but was broken wire am thinking of changing the switch to be on the safe side

Cruise will disengage when there is any hesitation with the engine, however slight. So yes check the brake switch for sure.

I’ve had this on one of the C5s on the dual carriageway; had a slight power drop then back to normal just for a split second, causing the cruise to disengage. It happened occasionally but turned out it was a very small split in the turbo hose. We only found this out when it started to affect the car more significantly and eventually it would barely move. Once they located the split and replaced the hose everything was perfect again.

So could be anything that causes a momentary power drop or an intermittent circuit fault.
