C5 daylight option in car's menu

Post by xf1ref »

Sorry if this was discussed before, I have lexia for some time, I activated and deactivated some options but I can't find how to activate the option for daylight in car's menu.
I had the option but I don't know how it disappeared. I have attached 2 pictures with the settings from BSI..I have tried all these but without result. Any advice is welcome.

So what version of Diagbox are you running?
After enabling DRL in Diagbox, have you disconnected Diagbox, switched off ignition, locked car and waited 5 minutes, then start car, go to configuration menu on steering wheel (left scroll wheel button), check lighting menu for DRL option.

If it is still not available, go back into Diagbox, back into the personalisation menu and disable Dedicated DRLs, allow configuration to write, come out of Diagbox and switch off car, wait for BSI to sleep, then try re-enabling again.

Sometimes it can take 3-4 attempts to get the menu to activate in the dashboard to show the DRl option - and this was also not helped by one of the software versions of Diagbox that had a telecoding issue on the X7 (hence why I asked the version you have).

Try the above and let us know.

Hi Marc,

I had 7.58 and now I have 7.82.
I didn't know that I have to lock the car and wait for BSI to sleep...usually all others settings had effect immediately after activation/deactivation. I will try to disable DRLs into the personalisation menu.

Thanks.

I would stick at 7.67 - telecoding has been reduced from later versions - this latest fix resolved the missing locking / unlocking issue when configuring for the C5.

Regarding the above - I know that it can be an issue, which is why I suggested that you leave it a while to sleep before changing the setting again - I have had this issue concerning the DRLs on mine and finally got it working - but the Diagbox version 7.67 was available from April 2015 - so should easily cover your car - there's no point in updating it beyond this for your car and loosing functionality. :-D

Good to know that 7.67 is the best version for C5. I will downgrade to this version and after I will try again to activate the DRLs.

Marc, I started today to install again Lexia but the installation kit have the updates like this:
diagbox 7.01 to 7.57
diagbox 7.57 to 7.58
diagbox 7.58 to 7.62
diagbox 7.62 to 7.66 (8.02)
diagbox 7.66 to 7.74.... etc.

I can't install 7.67 because it will jump directly to 7.74. Is ok to install until the version 7.66?

When I mentioned V7.67 for the C5 - I should of been clearer - apologies; what I should of said is that the bug regarding "Correction concerning the deletion of the 'Locking/unlocking of the vehicle using the high frequency remote control' parameter in the configuration". error only concerned the Lexia software that is encapsulated inside Diagbox - so should not affect the Diagbox interface itself.

So, best to leave it at 7.62 to ensure all telecoding functions remain. See if you can configure it with this version first.

There is a possibility of bypassing the telecoding restrictions on later versions if you get a message or the log in screen by disconnecting the VCI from the car, hitting the return key on your laptop and reconnecting - but I wouldn't recommend this. Stick to V7.62 in my opinion unless you have a real need to update.

I have installed Diagbox 7.62 and tried two times the procedure with letting the BSI to sleep..but without results. I will try again when the weather got better because all the week will be snowing. Hope the appearance of the option in car's menu is not influenced by the other options that I have activated/deactivated in the past.

OK, one thing to be aware of - sometimes (as happened to me), the option would appear, but the driver welcome function would disappear, then when I got that back the other would go! So I found that I had to get three options correct - the central locking of the plip (all Doors or Driver door only, the Welcome Function and the DRL Function). I had to check and activate / deactivate these three until I got them all working (keep checking the menu after telecoding to see if the options have changed). I think it is a glitch, but with patience I got mine working fine with all options as they should be. Also the function of the Electric Parking Brake - enabling this to be switched from manual to automatic is a function that can disappear when configuring other things - so check that out too.

I finally succeeded after: I disabled the parking sensors view on dashboard screen, I activated the gear recommendation indicator and I disabled Dedicated DRL. I don't know if the first two options have to do with the option for DRL but I will try to activate one by one.
Thanks, Marc!
