Rely 2.2 cuts out when turbo lifts

Hi
I have a relay 2.2hdi 2002
Runs fine from cold once the temp comes up to about normal running when you go to drive off it get to about 2/2.5 reverse gives two cracks out the exuast and ploom of black smoke and management light comes on and goes to limp mose
Changed crank, cam sensors, both vacuum solinoids erg valve and cleaned all pipe work also changed turbo and vacuum throttle body
Made sensor, temp sensor, ecu fuse box and checked all wires in harness around this area
It's driving me daft
Has anyone came a cross this fault
Any help would be appreciated TIA

Sorry to say, but as I'm sure you've realised already, throwing parts and time/effort at it in hope of repair is not really a practical or economical way forward & the van needs to have a session on diagnostics kit. Ideally on a Lexia if there's someone local who could lend a hand, but a generic reader is better than nothing and the codes can be interpreted.

Short of diagnostic codes, it's purely guesswork, but based on the symptoms my 2 shots in the dark would be sticking EGR/vac leak to solenoid or wastegate is sticking/leak to the actuator. As both of these appear to have been dealt with though I'm at a loss without codes sorry.

I got a loan of a scanner cleared all fault code run the van up to operation temp rev to about 2.5 revs and clunk clunk puff of black smoke management light came on
Read code
2 supply sensor fault. engine ecu absente
Ant ideas can't see anything on the Internet

I can't make a great deal of sense of that fault description I'm afraid, do you have the actual code numbers from the reader (E.G. P0115/P2021 etc)?

That's the problem with generic scanners on PSA stuff, it can be a bit bewildering as they don't always communicate as well as they do through marque specific Lexia kit. Hopefully though if you can post up the fault numbers someone will be able to make a suggestion based on those

Again, without specific codes from a Lexia - it will be guesswork. When I had an issue with a C5 that lost power and made a really bad rasping sound with loads of smoke, it was difficult to find initially, but turned out to be a VERY SMALL split in the turbo hose - replaced and was back to normal.

But as ekjdm14 says, getting the specific fault codes may help point you in the right direction.

No code number just that reference it a launch cr129 I am using
I'll change the hoses as I have a spare van this is where the parts are coming from and it run fine

Is there anyone in North Ayrshire with a lexia that could read this for me,

I'm not a million miles away and have Lexia but I've never seen the option to select any of the vans on it. Is there a specific piece of software that's required for the commercial range?

Not on the Relay David, but they have a myriad of names, Jumper, Jumpy, Despatch and each in various flavours!

It should pick it up from the VIN, but if not, if the OP PMs the VIN, I’ll get you both a printout of the details with RPO (hopefully as sometimes that is not always easy to make out) so you have something to go on if that helps.

I have emailed the VIN specs to Fraser along with the RPO number.

I have checked the special tooling for the Relay II as it is listed with Service Citroen, but as Bick has mentioned in Lexia it will probably be referred to as Jumper II.

Now on the Relay II / Jumper II vehicles there is no special mention of the add-on interface module tool S1279 required. It is however listed as a requirement on the Relay III / Jumper III. So assuming this holds true in practice, there would be no need for this add-on.

If you additionally need to enter the type of Van when selecting the vehicle, it is "PANELLED VAN - LONG HIGH SIDE STD ROOF TYPE 18"
