Climate control removal

Post by Titch64 »

Hello all. I have a 2009 Citroen C5 that needs new climate control due to unreadable didgets. I would like to ask if anyone knows how to remove the controls/module that could give me some guidance. Thank you in advance.

Disconnect Battery Negative first (disconnecting some plugs with the battery connected can damage permanently damage certain Audio / screen components)

Remove the Audio Head Unit first (you'll need either the flat blade keys or the round pin keys
depending on unit fitted).

Dual Zone Unit Removal:
1) Unclip the dual zone air-conditioning front panel assembly (1) ( as "a" ) ; Using a flat plastic Trim removal tool.
Detach the dual zone air-conditioning front panel assembly (1).

2) Hold the dual zone air-conditioning front panel assembly (1).
Unplug - Release the connectors ( as "b", "c", "d", "e", "f" ).

3) Unclip and detach ( as "g", "h" ); Using flat trim tool.
Remove the dual zone air-conditioning front panel assembly (1).

4) Remove The bolts (2), then the dual zone air-conditioning control (3) from the fascia plate.

If you need the part number, PM your VIN.

And those clips that hold the front panel in place ('a' in picture 1) are amazingly tight.
At the risk of sounding like a girl - when I stripped mine I broke a nail.
