I had something similar in mind, but sticky beat me to it ... :D .. jokes aside, I think it should be No. 10 in the provided picture:

That's it, I replaced it on my C6 to cure a similar issue. Of course, on a right hand drive car, this is in the passenger footwell, and the pedals aren't in the way..!

Mine wasn't the brake switch, but the relay under the selector controls somewhere.

Well this is a task I will be undertaking soon so i'm going to plump for a 5+1 litre bottles from Opie Oils I think and as the car will be moved to a 6K oil change schedule(i will never let a diesel get to that stupid 20k service that is reccomended!) i will drop the oil again on the next service to swap it out.

I think they actually hold more like 8 Litres from dry build so the TC takes up a good bit of that and then the valve block.

The car will be got upto running temp as per a normal oil service so this should help the gearbox get upto temp as well and aid draining :)

Old post I know but my experience may be relevant:

While searching for the air fan speed controller, I removed something incorrectly. When it was removed, the gear shift of the auto was locked.
Turned out it is a relay which triggers when your foot is on the brake and it releases the gear shift.

The relay is up in the dash to the LHS looking up from the passenger's feet. Obviously you have to remove lower trims above the feet to see it. My car is right hand drive but the relay is on the left side. There is a connecting rod going from RHS to left which pivots when the brake is pressed. This impacts the relay, causing release of the gearshift.

Links to two useful videos changing ATF oil .

The first is on a volvo with the Aisin 6 Speed box and is a 'flush'. It shows the change in oil colour each time the oil is drained.
The second is on a Citroen (not in English) with only 3 litres changed.

I remain concerned about which oil to use. I have found several here which claim to be AW-1 compatible i.e. from Nulon and Penrite. However, I'm concerned whether the oil left in the system, even after a flush, will mix ok with a new type, expecially if it is fully synthetic. Any thoughts on this?

I have seen documents from Aisin (can’t find them now, typical!) that say that their 6 speed box can take AW-1 or JWS3309. Mixing doesn’t seem to be an issue, but I would perform 3 changes in quick succession personally.

I always thought, and I am sure I have read somewhere, you can add AW-1 TO JSW3309 but you can't add JSW3309 to a AW-1 filled gearbox
