Thanks again. Yeah think I'm going to flush the engine and check the banjo filter at next oil change. If I see any signs of blockage I'll remove it completely.
I was to check the turbo for axial play today, but I ended up cleaning the inside of the car instead.

Checked the turbo today. There is absolutely no more play than it should be. Zero axial play and only bearly visible side to side play. Is that a sign that the turbo is still OK? There was a small drip of oil in the bottom of the air-intake on the turbo. And some at the bottom of the breather tube.

I really don't know what happened but after I removed the air intake tube, cleaned it and tightened it back on, the turbo is a lot quieter. Still some whine noise but a lot less. A miracle maybe.

Did you see anything much come out of the intake tube when you cleaned it?

I've had problems with the air intake tube sliding off the turbo due to oil on the red rubber gasket. After solving that with some steel string the turbo went slightly more quiet. Maybe yours were not connected properly..

Nah just a few drops of oil, nothing else. I'm suspecting the intake-tube to the turbo was a bit loose or something. Tightened it on good and now I can bearly hear the turbo even when pushing it...

I've just noticed that I don't even have that red inner rubber sleeve/seal. What is its purpose? I think the previous owner has thrown it away or something. It's just the black big air-tube straight on the turbo intake.

When I do the engine flush I can't rev the engine according to the instructions on Liqui Moly. Need to be sure the flush-agent makes its way through that turbo bonjo bolt. Do you guys think it will? Even at idle?

Purpose is to avoid air getting sucked in to the turbo before going trough the air filter. It puzzles me how the intake tube could be connected securely without that thick seal in place???
