"NF-Oat Original--package doesn't say "milk" mustn't be allowed!"

The ASA would jump all over them.

Did you see the latest go the ASA had at Dyson, "You can't use that advert again, it implies that your fan is cordless because we can't see the cord in the advert."

Wonder how many FCF members have a carton in their fridges right now.

Just like "big oil", there is "big dairy" who do everything in their power to protect their industry, and the plant-based milks are a serious threat.

We have a carton of Oat Milk this currently in the fridge, and occasionally when its on offer almond milk isnt a bad drink.

It's a bugger having to get up a 3am to milk those bloody almonds for an early coffee.

Energy Matters Global and Domestic

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

No-one else got a plant based "milk" in their fridges then?

The "plastic message" seems to be working with Attenboroughs support...just a shame that he wasn't spotted sipping from a bottle of Evian when he was at Wimbledon just for a laugh.

The other plain message maybe isnt as easy or popular to jump on the bandwagon of, and not so easy to give up. Some scientists as in this report contend that for individuals it is 'single biggest way' to reduce our environmental impact on planet.

They may not have taken into account James' point about capturing any increase in our own methane emissions!

What a lot of rubbish the papers write
The 'single biggest way to reduce our environmental impact on the planet' is surely to, errrr.... cease to exist !
The second 'single biggest way to reduce our environmental impact on the planet' is surely to not have children.
However, I'll grant them the fact the the third 'single biggest way to reduce our environmental impact on the planet' may well be to go vegan
Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(

Not likely!
I have two vegan daughters though and they always have soy milk or almond milk.
Not convinced.

I now use soya (unsweetend) milk for my tea habit. Almond drink for the cereals.

Same here unless I buy Jersey - gold top stuff, a bit rare these days.
If I want insipid milk I can add water for nothing.

If you get your gold top at Morrisons chances are it may well have come from Archers near Walworth Castle Hotel just off the A68 before Darlington. One third of their jersey milk goes to Morrisons. Went to a very nice little car show at the Walworth Castle Hotel a few years back.

On the rare occasions when I am in Morissons then that is where I get it.
Will be there next week as car is in for MOT.
Set off for Yarm - daughter #2 has a vegan pop-up bakery there that I was going to.
Car didn't like that much, strong vibration and burning smell - warped disc and handbrake stuck on :(

That reminded me of the tale of the three chemists in the High Street.

One chemist put a sign up saying "Best chemist in the town."

Not to be beaten another just down the road put up a sign saying "Best chemist in the country."

The first changed his sign to "Best chemist in the world."

The third chemist simply added his sign "Best chemist in this street."
