Well, although I didn't take it today, here is a nice picture of my Mums' cat, Murphy. He has several endearing habits, one of which is that he goes for walks with Mum (or anybody else who goes for a walk!).

A friend who knows about such things tells me that Steve McQueen tried to make his escape on a 1961 Triumph TR6 Trophy, but even if he had managed to escape he would have failed because at some point Mr McQueen got off his bike and Mr Bud Ekins got on it to perform the jump scene. And there was me thinking the film was an accurate and faithful portrayal of events  :-D

With Hollywood moguls paying the bills there was always the need for American actors in lead parts in 'our' war history, Yanks in RAF uniforms tended to Canadians to explain their American accents.

Don't believe all the film history stuff, there was that blatant fraud of a story about the Enigma machine being captured from a German submarine by the Yanks.
Man is, by nature, a lazy beast, he does not need twice encouraging to do nothing.

Another Dorset train, Lyme Regis this time. The building on the hill behind the loco is Woodroffe School, my son went there and my grand daughter started this year.

The station was still here when we moved here in 1970

Should have a picture now.

Dorset has come up a few times in my recent perusings Peter. Even one of the last survivors who participated in the actual Great Escape, maybe even the last one, is now residing in a care home in Lyme Regis!

Alan Bryett, as reported by the BBC

Yes its all over the news today, but mainly just the focussed in pic, probably so the public can pick out the "black hole-eyness" straight away from the image. They wouldn't be expecting a black hole to be anything other than a little black circle!

Came across this rather gorgeous little car. Apparently its 50 years since its launch in 1969, and SEAT are celebrating the fact on their stand at this

Its not Moscow, but if you google Moscow Metro Stations, there are some absolutely stunning pictures.

I imagine this will be very very easy for at least one of our members.....

^ I did have a look at a series of photo's of Soviet stations and buildings a while back and many are quite staggering.
Depressing considering the deprivation that many of the populace had to endure.

Same goes for many countries currently. They always seem to have money for statues and weapons but none for food and general welfare*
