It brought quite a lump to my throat running over the bridge this morning... The poppies looked amazing even under the street light...

Pictures are not mine... No way could I photograph them at four in the morning!

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep,
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight,
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not there, I did not die.

Chris, that's lovely :D

We observed a very emotional and special 2 minute silence at 11:00 today whilst out on a club bike ride... We timed it perfectly - we'd just arrived at our cafe stop :)

From The "Metro" today and currently active in Gloucestershire.
...Dubbed the Long Ranger, it can record clear video footage and produce still photographs of drivers inside their cars and catch them using mobiles or not wearing seatbelts

Taken late afternoon yesterday whilst returning from a walk in the countryside around here. Note the moon between the two turrets :)

POTD Celestial Bodies Day!

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

Well done Jim/Bobins, 2 photos in one day is what I would describe as a flurry. I am, for my contribution today, going to revive one of my previous efforts inspired by the "moon between the two turrets" composition carefully engineered by Bobins.

I give you large chimney from Ryhope Pumping Station with an engineered Sun perched on the top, otherwise known as the "Angel of Ryhope"

Two cracking photos there gentlemen and well worthy of this thread :D Enjoyed!

I've been running today so nothing of architectural note to post but I did rather enjoy my 10K MoRun in aid of Movember which raises awareness of men's health - particularly testicular and prostate cancer...

This was me at the end proudly clutching my medal...

Not sure if this should go in the 'Funny Pictures' thread, or in here, but I (genuinely) came across this whilst walking in woodland in the middle of nowhere earlier today. I think it actually proves a bit of Darwinism - it shows the evolution of the toilet habits of woodland dwelling bears. It answers the question - 'Do bears **** in the woods ?' :-D
