Noggin can of course mean "head" but in this case you would be hard pressed to order a "noggin" at the host pub. It is an old fashioned term for a small measure of beer usually 1/4 of a pint!

I also googled earlier something I saw in a pub 'up North' (ish) recently relating to the use of a "Sparkler" in terms of pouring Real Ales (its to do with getting good head ...that's on a Beer you lot ! )
Something else you no longer see, certainly down my parts, also witnessed recently (not car related), a huge queue in a Chip Shop. Nice to see that old traditions are alive & well.... and the Fish & Chips was worth the wait!
Notice how the medium car size Ami8 Break is narrower than VW's smallest offering, a 2014 Up! From the other side they're 'parallel' but the Ami is further from the kerb. There were plentiful patches of primer, looks unrestored & like someone's taking good care of it.
NB: anyone any idea why all four of my tyres seem to lose a psi or three in the space of a few days... then no more. All are recent (2 Kumho's, 2 Firestones) & I'm keen to look after my investment in 'em.
NB2: also saw a lovely looking Moggy Minor Traveller for sale in the same area, obviously restored. PM for photo & details if of interest

Your tyre pressures might be weather related.
If you get them right on a warm day, they can easily be that far down on a cool day.
I used to carefully adjust mine to the correct pressure, +/- 0.5 psi, once a week until I realised that they were varying far more than that with the ambient temperature. These days I inflate them to a couple of pounds over, and don't worry until they've dropped to a couple under.

I wonder how this will work with the new MOT regs? Just driving to the MOT station is going to alter the tyre pressure.

I think the MOT testers only become interested if the tyres are visibly over or under inflated.

i can’t see them testing tyre pressures short of a visual check, as that would mean undoing valve caps and measuring them - which I don’t think they are allowed to do and probably don’t have the time for.
Hell, they wouldnt even use a screwdriver to pull the bonnet release wire on mine last MOT when the catch snapped from the cold. Even though I had the new catch with me from the dealer next door that I just picked up, he had to be able to open it, so I had to open it so he could visually check it opened

Major
So you only get a Minor (aka an advisory) if the tyre is obviously underinflated, and then only if the car has TPMS, and then only if it was registered after 1 Jan 2012 (TPMS not testable for cars before that date). No scope for confusion there then!!

With the knowledge of all these gadgets on moderns, I guess Driverless cars seem like less of a stretch of the imagination.
Another PoTD, on a completely different subject, the Missus woke me at 5:45am saying "there's somebody out there".
