Re: P.E.Jukebox-10 mildly amusing tracks-Selections please!

Well, at first this song is somewhat amusing, but it is a bit of an earworm, and a lot wearing after repetitive plays, so if I hear the sounds of wailing, gnashing teeth and heavy duty keyboard activity deleting this post I will not be much surprised;

I am going to have to let Bernard Cribbens in if Val, and clingons on the starboard bow have made it, but which one...the really obvious one or the slightly less obvious one....

Yes and Bernard and the Beatles had something in common for this recording

"Val Doonican Rocks, but Gently" of course....the title referring to his Rocking Chair :-D

Well, this one is amusing, although a bit too early for the Christmas season;

Have to say I don't care for Christmas music - with one exception
Also don't like Stevie Wonder - with one exception.

And here are those exceptions combined:

Hers are the only Christmas albums I own.
The first one went Platinum is a couple of weeks and outsold all Christmas music sales that year and she was all of ten years old.

.and the surprising thing about the musical accompaniment to the end bit of the film. A beautiful gentle song about Glasgow, so gentle that you could hardly believe that it was Billy Connolly..nothing loud or brash about this just a lovely heartfelt song..

...and another song about Caledonia.......Caledonia by Dougie Maclean............but which version

The Original
Celtic Woman featuring Lisa Kelly or
Frankie Milller.

I have a tendency to go back to the original, but Lisa Kelly does do a nice version of it

P.E.Jukebox-Post a track make the link!

Post by NewcastleFalcon »

..a heathly mix of youtube and wikipedia often come up with an interesting "thread" sparked off by a starter track.

For example...that track Caledonia.....one of the versions of it was a Tennants beer advert featuring Frankie Miller. Awful in the extreme (the cringy storyline rather than the music), and it also featured in an awful manufactured woodenness of a video for Scotlands Homecoming celebrating the 250th Anniversary of Robert Burns......yes notable Scots each reading a line from the song climaxing with Sean Connery's worst acting performance ever :-D

...but as far as music linkage goes I ended up listening to Thin Lizzy/Gary Moore via Sade as one of Frankie Millers more memorablle performances was in a duet with Phil Lynott on the Thin Lizzy song..."Still in Love With You".

It became a staple of Thin Lizzy's Live Performance.

So I'll start the "Post a Track-Make the Link" with the cover by Sade of that song....how many FCF members knew Sade did a Thin Lizzy track :?:

With 'Love' being the link - Bonnie Raitt with Bruce Hornsby on keyboards - I Can't Make You Love Me.

Sadly no longer a C5 owner :(
