Re the 407 door seal issue and airbag warnings, after a few days of rain and testing with the hose, I gave up as water was still pooling on top of the bottom door seal and then running inside the car.

My solution was to put a few holes thru the seal with a leather hole punch tool which seems to allow the water to exit (the door seal gets squashed...

It could well be the Airbag ecu itself but that shows no signs of corrosion or anything untoward so just want to make sure I'm seeing all of the splices and potential pinch points before I spend out on an ecu. It's probably far more likely a wire than the module, I just can't find anything...

Hi all.
My sometimes working hatchback boot release switch.

When I exit the car the boot will either unlock completely and pop up or just unlock, but boot handle won't work to open it.
And then a performance of locking/unlocking until it decides to open.

The actual boot latch, with boot open and a screwdriver, it does lock/unlock from the key...

Resolved.

The boot handle, I sprayed contact cleaner into it and removed the micro switch wires to try to remove it.

Either or both of these has fixed the switch. Perhaps the switch contacts, I've scraped of surface corrosion.

But now I just have to tap the outer handle or pull it's edge for the boot to open, I can hear the beep of the switch...

Well, where to start - so I'll start from the beginning!

I was out in town yesterday when I got a warning on about the charging circuit and a message I couldn't remember - so made a beeline for home. A/C went off and cabin fan started going off - so that confirmed system was not charging - steering got lumpy towards the end of the 18 mile journey...

I am interested in buying my next C5. I found a really good deal on a C5 Aircross from late 2019 with PureTech 180 S&S Shine EAT8.
Does this particular engine still have the issue with the timing belt? The one where it runs in the oil and start to dissolve and needs to be replaced every 6 years?

Any other issues to look out for?

Hi I have a 2010 dispatch combi that got flood damaged 2 bent rods ets so I don't mind rebuilding it but will be a lot quicker and cheaper to put a replacement in

Hi still having problems with anti theft message coming up on dash, however I've found if I turn on ignition on then very slightly turn the key but not quite enough to engage the starter the triangle with ! light goes out and car starts fine.

Stop Start hasn't worked for a while now, because the battery was old and only holding less than 70% charge. The accumulateor reports at 30%. Well the battery finally gave up last week and sent the dashboard into Christmas tree mode. The date on the battery 6.2014, so it done well.

Want to have a look at your towbar specifically the banana brackets. I have removed mine and I am waiting on new one to arrive. I need it for towing a 9x4 trailer so glad I discovered it. A ton of sand would pull that apart fairly easily. It doesn't look as bad...

Hello, could someone confirm the correct way to bleed the clutch cylinder in a Citroen C5 II 2006 FAP 136CV?

I also need to replace or clean PCV and change the gaskets on the high engine cover (rocker cover I think it's called). Is there a correct manual or procedure to do it?

Earlier today I removed my Air Doser and whilst I was there I decided to peer into the inlet manifold.

Firstly in an effort to improve my 01 bingo I bought some seats from a 2017 model.
Anyone done this conversion ?
I know I’ll have to make a beaker but that’s no problem.

Hi
This morning, while driving to work, after about 20km's ride, a gear box fault warning appeared, along with the service went on and it showed D3 constantly (with a flashing light above it). I was on the highway and there was noting I could do, so, I drove on about 10 more kilometers until I've reached my destination. I turned the engine off....

Hi new to this having a nightmare with fault P000A. I swapped the cam sensors first of all, fault did not swap to exhaust. Check voltages to cam sensors 5 volts found. Swapped VVT solenoids when removed no contamination found, resistances checked coils both same ohm reading powered solenoids on bench all ok.

Hello,

yesterday I changed the fuel filter on my Citroen C5 Aircross with BlueHDI 180 engine.

The old/original filter was attached at the bottom of the fuel filter housing and looked like this:

The sliding door of our Relay will only lock using the remote key fob (and only on the second press - first clunk = front doors, 2nd clunk = sliding door) - should I be able to lock it with the key in the drivers door as well? It will unlock using the key in the drivers door, but not lock.

Hey all,

I have a 2916 Citroen relay bluehdi 2.0 and it overheats on inclines recently.

Overheating on inclines.
New waterpump and belt and thermostat housing Inc thermostat 8months
New radiator 1month
New radiator fans 14months
No leaking seen.
No loss of fluids when driving only when it's overheated.

I would have thought a cold heater would not suggest a thermostat not opening fault but rather it being open all the time. A cold heater could be a sign of its heater flap not opening or an air lock or a blockage in the heater matrix and a check of its supply/return hoses being hot could help check these.

Hi. My C5 2007 has suddenly very excessive tyre wear on rear outside. More right than left side.
Bearings - both wheel and suspension - was Exchange 50,000 km ago - No noise - suspension feels normal.
Camper looks fine.
I did not measure toe in - but looks like rear wheels has toe-in.
I have not been in any accident.
What to look for?

Actually, last time i did change the rear brake disks, (20.000 km ago) i realized exactly the situation you descibe.
When mounting the calliper, i could not Mount new brake pads and a new disk.
I managed with a hammer to remove corrosion on the rear of the calliper, and could reassemble.
New service point - Copper grease...

I would like your help. Could anyone of you provide the clearance values due to wear of the ES9J4 (Xantia V6) oil pump impellers?

I would like to check this clearance, using a feeler gauge, to make sure that I won't have (and that I still don't have) problems.

The engine has only 90.000 km (ORGA 08219 CJ)

Note that in normal operation the oil pump rotor is held in a central position by the crankshaft, so cannot float around as shown in your video. To measure the oil pump wear, you need to open up the oil pump and position...

Hi all. Il try and keep this as short as possible.
Its a 2015 c4 grand picasso.
Adblue light was randomly coming on showing 1500 miles left, this went on for about 6-8 months. always 1500 miles left, this never changed. I could start the car and it would go away for weeks, etc then just totally randomly show up again, 1500 miles left to top up....

You can't reset the Adblue counter this way Paul. It will disable vehicle starting at 0 miles and can only be reinitialised with a professional level diagnostic tool. EU rules again. :roll:

In this case it's a bit of a joke, as the Adblue is not actually being used it appears, so NOx emissions are not being eliminated as it is.

Hello,

I have a few problems with the wipers of my Citroen C1 2018 (Mk2).

For the rear wiper - I broke the little plastic holders that keep little bit of force on the wiper to hold it in place. So right now what's holding the wiper in place is the force of the wiper on the windshield, so I must not lift it up. Is this something I can fix myself?...

Hello and thank you for any advice you can give.

I've got a C4 cactus and the air con is clearly labelled on grey caps for 1234yf gas. No probs

However, my wife has a 2015 C4 and it's less clear. The caps are black, don't indicate which gas and I'm not even sure which is low/high. My cactus is so much clearer.

Our 2003 C3 1.4 petrol front right spring broke when 4½ years old. I can not remember if it already had the cups on but if not they were certainly on after the springs were replaced. On our 2010 C3 1.4 petrol it was the rear right spring that failed when about 4 years old. In both cases the springs at both sides were replaced by Citroen at no cost...

Some oil appered on left side. I did not yet had time to check. I am not sure if it is uspension as car keeps height (i would expect to drop down).

Had on My C2 the tracking/alignment done but for some reason when the wheels are off the ground, the wheels turn to the right.

At times the car does stay perfectly straight (in flat road).

I have replaced the injector before already, 5 months ago. The previous injector was stuck open and flooding the exhaust system with fluid (tail pipe white smoke and crystallisation) it also had a code for short to ground when trying to test operation...

Scary situation. Having recently noticed a damp patch at the front coener of the car, I find that my LH headlamp wash jet is dribbling a small but continuous amount of fluid, apparently from the nozzles.

Am I right in thinking the jet assembly must have an internally sprung valve to prevent this ? If so, then when they start to dribble does that mean they've had...

Hi,

I have a leak coming from the pipe that connects to the main accumulator in the front, do I need to buy a new pipe or is there any other way to fix it cheaper. Also I wasn't able to find the factory code of the part anywhere, can anyone help me, I can also send a picture from the leak tomorrow if needed.

That hose is the main return from the pressure regulator, which is part of the octopus which combines many return hoses. See #3 on the diagram.

The octopus is available from Dr Xantia

Note that there are several versions of the octopus with slight differences depending on the specification of the care, but I think that the one available...
