Peugeot 308sw t7 esp/asr fault

Post by Samuel308 »

Hello, for about 2 years, yes, you read correctly, 2 years... What bothers me is the malfunctioning ESP or Semi-functional. It works until I pass a corner at a minimum speed of 60 km/h until then everything behaves fine and ESP works. Then when I turn off the car and start it again the error is gone and it repeats itself every time I drive. Lexia 3 shows error C1316. I don't know what to do next replaced gyroscope (also configured angle sensor, etc.) esp shows live values such as turning the steering wheel, position of the gas pedal, that's all in order, I just don't really know where to look anymore and everything I thought of didn't work. I did not find a single solution to this problem on the Internet. If necessary, I can also send photos of live values. Any answer will be helpful ;))

See the part I have highlighted in red - which seems to describe what is happening with your vehicle...
Fault Code: C1316
Description of Fault: Transverse acceleration sensor signal fault:Coherence.
The signal from the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor is monitored by the ESP ECU every 100 milliseconds
Possibility 1
Connector problem
Possibility 2
Incorrect fitting of the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
Possibility 3
Absence or incoherence in the data coming from the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
Conditions of activation of the diagnostics:
At moderate driving speed, drive round bends and roundabouts, without illumination of the indicator light nor operation of the ESP.
Conditions for Fault to clear:
  • The data supplied by the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor is valid
Downgrade Modes whilst Fault is active:
  • The ESP operation that is current goes its term. Once it is finished, cutting of all ESP operations
  • The other sub-functions remain active.
  • Switching on of the warning lamp and/or warning message: ESP/ASR indicator lamp
Symptoms:
  • Lighting of the ABS and ESP warning lamps
Suspect Areas:
  • Connectors
  • Electrical harnesses
  • Calibration of the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
  • Gyrometer/accelerometer sensor

Yes exactly like that! But do you have any problem solution? Adaptive xenon works.

Nothing to do with the Xenons, but it is not happy with the data being received from the accelerometer sensor. When you changed it was the part exactly correct for this vehicle and was it new or used? Do you recall the part number for the sensor you replaced?

VIN would be useful. Post it here - it will be masked except for staff.

A couple of points:

1) The sensor must be fitted the correct way around with the connector of the sensor facing the rear of the vehicle.
2) Any sensor that has has suffered an impact must be replaced.
3) When refitted, battery must of first been disconnected following the BSI Reset / Battery Disconnect / Reconnect Procedure, the fault codes must be cleared.

So you are unlikely to know the condition or situation of a used second hand sensor and personally speaking, I would never use second hand sensors , but I know they are not cheap to replace.

You can never be sure - unfortunately and there is no guarantee that a new module will fix the issue.

Codes are there to help troubleshoot and provide pointers and we can see from the suspects there are several possibilities:
  • Connectors
  • Electrical harnesses
  • Calibration of the gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
  • Gyrometer/accelerometer sensor
So it's a matter of checking the obvious things like the connections and testing these (including not to forget the connections at the ABS / ASP module itself in case the connections from the the accelerometer to the ESP UCU are faulty at the ESP ECU end).

Try all the practical checks first before replacing parts.

Hello! So few updates i tried to make a calibration BUT lexia wrote that the calibration is not possible.
Esp wiring in dashboard is good the sensor wiring is all right the connection under the steering wheel is all right too.Power for esp sensor is there. It remains to check the esp wiring at the psf unit.
