This is a bit of a word game.

Thought it was just anagrams against the clock before I realised there was a clue to each word/words presented.

Unscrambled 8 before the clock ran out, looks like wordle where there is a time delay before you get a new one to try.
For each word unscrambled you get 15, 10 or 5 points depending on how rapidly you get it. If you dont get a word i the time you lose one of three chances.

Named after the Islands, which wiki has this to say about the name

The name Islas Canarias is likely derived from the Latin name Canariae Insulae, meaning "Islands of the Dogs", perhaps because monk seals or sea dogs were abundant, a name that was evidently generalized from the ancient name of one of these islands, Canaria – presumably Gran Canaria. According to the historian Pliny the Elder, the island Canaria contained "vast multitudes of dogs of very large size". The connection to dogs is retained in their depiction on the islands' coat-of-arms.

Other theories speculate that the name comes from the Nukkari Berber tribe living in the Moroccan Atlas, named in Roman sources as Canarii, though Pliny again mentions the relation of this term with dogs.

Been there a few times, to Tenerife Neil, like the place.
My mother had always said "If god wanted you to fly he'd have given you wings." but at 79 years old she suddenly decided to give it a go so I took her to Tenerife, waited a couple of hours into the flight before asking if she was ok, she said "Great, don't know why I didn't do it before."

The enterprise of Sir Alfred Lewis Jones, a Welsh shipping magnate who was a prominent figure in the Canary Islands, led to a constant stream of ships arriving into London’s South Quay Dock and the naming of Canary Wharf, after the ships' origin. It was named after No. 32 berth of the West Wood Quay of the Import Dock. This was built in 1936 for Fruit Lines Ltd, a subsidiary of Fred Olsen Lines for the Mediterranean and Canary Islands fruit trade. It is located on the Isle of Dogs, the quay and warehouse were given the name Canary Wharf.
