Do I understand correctly that one end of component 3 has to go into the opening of component A, i.e. into the box?
For me the whole box fits completely loosely.
I have all the plastic clips on

Yes, pipe Item (3) connects as shown to the air filter box. But the pipe itself may be loose, or if the whole box is loose, then it may be the inlet resonator support shown at (6) with screws (71)

That is the pipe (3) going into the Air Filter Box (A).

Those parts in blue are likely the front frame mounting parts and brackets - If they were loose, they would be rattling - that's not going to be the issue.

I can't help you specifically as you've used pictures from a different vehicle that shows it in place and above without the pipe - which looks like it has been ripped off or missing completely. These are the parts in the diagrams, so you'll have to determine what it is you need. I can't tell you any more than is shown, as I don't have the vehicle in front of me.
