Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Hi just a quick update, the Rd45 is in now the Bluetooth and phone work great, with using only one aerial cable the reception is ok but not as good on the rd4.
The replacement screen works fine the only issue being it is in kilometres and I don’t seem to be able to change this (although this could be operator error).
Thanks for all the help
David

My VIN number is VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]. Please could you tell me if I have RD4 or RD45? I haven't been able to connect my phone and car via Bluetooth.
Many thanks

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Marc,
A problem has developed with my bluetooth connection. New iphone 12 mini is able to recognise car but car is not accepting the connection.
Is there a way allowing more to input the phone security number ?As I believe this is the reason for "failure to connect Iphone".

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Just a thought Kenny, your system does have a spare slot for a new phone I take it, or do you need to delete an existing one first?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Unfortunately not. I would remove the phone entirely from the Head Unit using the menu to delete the phone (not just unpair it - it must be removed from the list of phones. Do the same on the iPhone - remove the vehicle's bluetooth connection.KennyW wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 20:13 Marc,

Make sure the iPhone is on the latest IOS version (15.3.1) which just came out recently.
Then in the iPhone bluetooth settings, make sure the Citroen connection is not visible, turn bluetooth off, then back on again after a few seconds. It should now be discoverable.
Then start the car, allow the unit to initialise and search for the phone again.
You may find you don't need to enter a code, but just acknowledge the connection when it shows the same pairing code (to ensure this is the right phone to pair).
See how you go.

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Thanks Marc, It's funny but we managed to connect the wife's phone after a bit of fuss and it's iPhone 12.
It's the only phone connected to the car so sufficient room for mine.
Will completely remove same and start again. Just checked and ios 15.3 on phone
Will try tomorrow.

Phone connected. By using car to search for bluetooth devices and it picked up my phone input security code and that was it.

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
So you have an RD4 system (which has no Bluetooth by itself), and separately it shows you having the hands-free add on kit which is what handles the Bluetooth and passes this onto the RD4.
Re the AUX: As you say you have the USB port in the central armrest. Have another look carefully to see of you can find a 3.5 port near the USB, either above or below or under another flap. The specifications show either a USB only or USB and Jack port - so you may not have this as you do have the basic system.
All I can suggest is you again try to 1) unpair the phone, and remove completely from the vehicle and delete the bluetooth connection for the phone, then try and pair it again (with engine running). Make sure you have your phone in discoverable mode first and keep an eye on both the phone menu and the vehicle screen so you don't miss any messages.
What are you getting when you try to pair the phone - can you access the pairing menu on the RD4?

Re: Citroen C5 can not connect to Bluetooth
Yeah i just did a check and there's actualy 3.5 port in armrest.
edit: it works with samsung adapter
As for pairing yes i canaccess it and in it when i go and search for phone i see it. I click on pair then enter pairing code on rd but i don't get any msg on phone. After 30 secs rd will display msg pairing with phone failure.
Thanks for help with this anyway!
