Re: Insurance time again.
20 days eh, well I got mine as soon as possible, so that’s 30 days before due.
Next time I’ll hold off and wait an extra 10 days. I’m guessing it’s an ‘eager beaver’ tax

Re: Insurance time again.
I think the comparison sites only allow you to get a quote 30 days before the renewal date. But whatever you do don’t leave it to 4 or 5 days before due, or they’ll whack up the prices

Yes, worked for me Elis as I didn’t need my car for time and had access to the other vehicle, but could of caught someone out who didn’t have another car they could use. I just think it’s a deliberate hike to rake in extra moolah!

Re: Insurance time again.
Got my renewal note from Direct line yesterday, £875 , did a check with the comparison sites, none under £800, got on the phone to DL had a good old moan and they took it down to £701.80 for the exact same cover, still a stinker but the best I can get..................old age don't come alone.

Re: Insurance time again.
Got mine today for the Punto, for Mrs. Michel and me, 15 years NCB etc.. up from £250 to £398, again this was Direct Line. I've had a moan, but the best they will do is £334
By contrast, I started a new policy, no NCB, for the Suzuki with RAC for £191 last week.
You may conclude I won't be with DL past the end of this month.

Re: Insurance time again.
Renewed both our C5 Estates in June I think gone up from around £250 last year to just over £400! .Direct Line have been cheaper than all the comparison sites for a number of years - until this year so I had to pay up. I shall be looking for a reduction next year.

Re: Insurance time again.
I always get them on the phone Peter and always get a chunk off the first quote, they've been the cheapest for the last five years and still can't be beaten for me even with the best efforts of shopping around, all the years of no claims (from 1984) never had a blame claim, makes no difference, I thought last year at £540 was bad enough.

Re: Insurance time again.
I usually do Gibbo but I bought another car and had to transfer the insurance by phone on the spot - they didn't mention price! As I was under a bit of pressure at the time I let my wife's auto renew. I checked the comparison sites later and they were about the same. I shan't make the same mistake next year.
The one I bought was a 1600 which I didn't particularly want but it was local and in very good condition. It's not quite as nippy as the other one but to all intents and purposes it does the job OK and the fuel consumption is brilliant.

Re: Insurance time again.
I've just received a renewal from my insurance company, £909, it's a fcking eurovan whose gunna try and steal that!! Kwik fit to the rescue £500. I will say the price is rather high but I was a very naughty boy in the past and it's set to an agreed value of £5000, which you may think is high but try and find another C8 2.2 Exclusive

There must be a disturbance in the universe.
I've just had the insurance renewal notificatin for my pick-up truck.
It's gone down by........ £2.11 this year. Surely shome mishtake ?
Last year's price - £168.66. This year's price - £165.55
Should I be worried ?

Re: Insurance time again.
Just had the renewal through for my Kia. The barstewards have put it up ! How can they justify this extortion ?
Last years price £187.04. This years price £191.55
That's a £4.51 increase. Blatant profiteering if you ask me
